i have a question, what advice do you have for somebody who's in high school and a lil sexually confused?
Watch old movies/tv shows you enjoyed as a kid (preferably not animated ones) and really pay attention to where your eyes automatically wander on the screen. Which character do you pay the most attention to naturally and remember kind of looking at with admiration as a kid, even if you didn’t quite understand why.
Like, rewatching The Princess Diaries now I look at Anne Hathaway and think “Damn, I was so gay even as a kid, I thought she was hot and didn’t even know!”
When you’re in public and you spot someone in the crowd and just kind of have a fascination with them, remember it and take note. Collect them mentally and go back over them — are they all women, all men, a mixture? Or no one at all?
More than anything, remember that even if you can’t nail it down 110% right now, it is okay. Love who you love and, as hard as it seems, try not to worry about it too much. Don’t force a label you aren’t comfortable with - eventually one will come to you that will feel right.Â
(And even if one does feel right and later doesn’t, that’s okay too. When one of my best friends and I met, she said she was gay and I said I was bi. Now she identifies as bi and I as gay. Things change and it’s cool.)
Don’t worry if you feel like it’s taking you too long to figure it out - it’s not. Everyone has different times/ages/experiences when they understand who they are.  I know people who knew they were gay in elementary school, I know people who didn’t discover it until college or later. I have a friend who got high one day and the fact that she was bisexual came to her. I have friends who are older than me reconsidering labels they’ve used on themselves for years. Everyone discovers themselves differently and it’s okay! Just know that you’ll never stop learning and understanding new things about yourself and it never ever stops being exciting!
