Bucheshwara Temple in Koravangla, Karnataka Sudha G. wrote : The Bucheshwara Temple is named after the man who built it, Buchiraja, an officer in the service of King Veera Ballala II. A dwikuta or two shrined temple, this is not built on a jagati. An elephant balustrade leads to the entrance, which are flanked by a pair of impressive dwarapalas. The two shrines are connected by a mandapa, one side of which is open. One of the shrines is home to Shiva as Bucheswara and the other to Surya. There is also an exquisite Saptamatrika panel in the closed mandapa. The sculptures on the temple's exterior walls are filled with exquisite sculptures of the various forms of Shiva as well as icons from the Vaishnava pantheon. There is also a sculpture of Kali with a rather impressive set of fangs. . The Bucheshwara Temple is among the better maintained set of temples we say while exploring the region.
