WAIT!!!

when did the term "dwampy" become a thing?

jesse asked me about this and i suddenly realized i'd never ONCE thought about dwampy/dwampyverse being tumblr-localized or tumblr-originated. dwampy was just a word that was as natural to me as breathing.

i did a search on my blog, and the earliest post i can find with the word dwampy in it was this one from 2015

and then i looked at the Google Trends website and checked both dwampy and dwampyverse. this was what i got

which made sense to me at first, the way i read it. i was like "ohhh okay so dwampy was probably coined on tumblr in 2011 because the community WAS really insular back then. i know because i lived to tell the tale. and the term must spread its way into other circles over time! makes sense"

and THEN jesse pointed out that "dwampyverse" being a term in 2012 doesn't even make sense, because milo murphy's law didn't come out until 2016. even if it was announced in 2015, there wouldn't have been reason to use the term "dwampyverse" in 2012 because phineas and ferb was the only dwampy show at that point.

This is the main factor for why season 2oof was so egregious I feel; since no one (sans maybe Scott) has a big enough personality to contest him, when it’s a Doof plot it’s a DOOF PLOT.
