The caravan puts some odds and ins from Dwalin's and Balin's old home in one chest to save room on the caravan for food and whatnot. Everyone in the company agreed each chest like that per family unit was terribly clever. Fili's and Kili's are entirely like that bc that's how it was there. Even dis couldn't sort it. She did get great pleasure in being able to legit yeet some of their shit into those creats. She went with the caravan. Thorin's council didnt. Hold yer hats we'll get ta why. Back to the for plot... Dwalin grabs what he thinks is his old journal and is ready for a walk down memory lane with Bilbo. "Oh look how silly little pebble me was for trying to fight a wolf. Ahh to be 56 again" he'll says to his 50 year old one. And instead he had grabbed Balin's. He snoops with he feel horrible about at first bc it just pages of him writing about his dead one who died during child birth. 'Oh no poor Balin and here I've been flaunting my one in his face. I also haven't meet my nibblit so sadly I know why,' Dwalin's thoughts. Turn the page a picture falls out. Its a younger Balin next to who is clearly his one. Oh she was so pretty. He has to read the next page bc the handwriting looks totally unlike Balin's and at this point this how they're getting to see how Balin handled it, knowledge he understand now his unwillingness to speak about it. Thats when he reads it. "I love my son Dwalin. He look so much like her it hurts. Right now for the first few years he won't remember. I will sort myself out so I can be the best dad I can for my brights gem. I hope one day he forgives me when he learns the truth." Dwalin now stares at the photo. His mother. His mother. He hadn't buried his mother and father those are his grandparents." He runs to Bilbo's quarters. Whole body shaking as he clings to photo like it will disappear if he let's go. He falls into his one's lap and trys to breath as his body is wrecked with loud sobs. Bilbo finally gets him to let of the photo by telling him he could ruin it clutching it tightly like that. He carefully takes ot and evens it out on his table for Dwalin to still see it. Dwalin bearly gets out Thorin's, Oin's and Gloin's names before Bilbo carefully stands up and and draps his house coat on Dwalin, in hopes to keep him grounded. They return less then 2 hours later (Ereabor is big after all and he got lucky with them all bing in one place. The Smith and his kindness.) They find Dwalin clawing at his body like he's gone mad. Bits of flesh and blood are flying everywhere. Thorin and Gloin hold him down and Oin sedates him. Oin has Thorin and Gloin move Dwalin to Bilbo's bedroom and starts to treats Dwalin's self inflicted wounds.Dwalin thousands of little wonds all over his body focusing on his tattos, his ear cuffs and some of his body jewelry have been ripped out of his body, braids and their beads torn from the root in some places, fingers raw bleeding and dislocated from the force the where removed. All things denoting WHO Dwalin is. Once done in the living room after they finished and where all steading their nerves before figuring out what happened. Oin sees the photo and instantly knows what happened. He looks at Thorin and demands the King bring him the "kin leaver advisor," he then has to say Balin became remembered know else knew because he basically signed an nda about it.
