English-speaking My student spirit fandom, how do y'all usually refer to characters and ship names? By the adapted version (Anthony Stellar, Elthony, Dima x Eliza, ect.) or by transliteration of original Russian names (Anton Zvezdochkin, Dushki or Dushechkin, Olezha & Olya, ect.)?
This is a genuine question btw, I DO NOT know. I've seen both in the wild, but what is more common? What is a go-to version for most people? Are there tags and names that are considered more or less "standard"? Is it different for tags and inside the post mentions? Fics, comics? Would people even understand who I'm talking about? How do I better tag my posts?
Also it's interesting to see the situation with names and titles I'm frequently experiencing in my English-speaking fandoms be reversed. Do y'all prefer subtitles too? Even when the dub is made by the same studio as the series? Are you unable to think about them using the vocab from English version? Is it MSS or DMO in your head? Or like… "the fuck you mean that's Elijah they live in fucking Moscow!!!" type of shit. And then you get so immersed in Russian-speaking fandom that calling things by their adapted name feels just wrong? So you just use the Russian tag instead? Like, is that a thing for y'all? Is there a divide between folks who prefer sub and dub? TELL ME.
Which names do you use in tags and posts?
English dub version (Elijah, MSS)
Transliteration of Russian original (Olezha, DMO)
It depends / I mix them / Gonna elaborate in a reply
Straight up slap tags in Russian on my 2k words post written in English
I'm not in the MSS/DMO fandom but I wanna click shit anyway c'mon it's tumblr
