Under the readmore cause I had a lot and it got long XD
Okay I have so many food related headcanons that I donāt think Iāve written out and itās sort of crazy. But food is so important to Rumple. As a peasant he had to worry about it a lot so itās important to him. And okay headcanons here we go.Ā
My first one is that he considers fruit to be a dessert. Itās sweet and yummy and good for you. He could get berries for free (unlike pastries) and he liked them so they were his sweet treat as a peasant. He would get pastries sometimes before the ogre wars (and after but mostly just for Bae) but he usually stuck with berries.Ā
Next is that Rumple was normally hungry. He wasnāt very well off as the town coward and all, so he had to save his money to make sure his son (and wife while she was still there) had everything they needed. He saved some coins but cutting back on the amount of food he ate, and just learned to live with being a bit hungry.Ā
Rumple can cook. I mean he probably learned from the two spinners that raised him and did most of the cooking as they got older. He maybe even cooked for Milah (he would have if she wanted him too but knowing the social standards of the time Iām not sure if it would have happened?). He defiantly cooked for himself and Bae though. And even after he gets magic he still likes to cook. Nothing to fancy really. He never really develops a liking for fancy foods (like the feasts nobles have and stuff). But he loves making simpler things.
And hereās another not eating one. I head canon that Dark One Rumple doesnāt eat that much. He doesnāt need to cause magic, and he has things to do. Deals and potions to make, books to read, all so he can find his son. So he basically just forgets to eat a lot or puts it off in favor of doing other things. Until Belle comes.Ā
So with Belle he starts eating more cause she makes it for him and all. (After he has to help teacher her cause being a noble she never really learned.) And he always sort of makes fun or Belleās cooking but eventually it actually gets good and heās secretly impressed.Ā
Okay so two more I think. In Storybrooke Gold has a secret stash of candy in his shop, mostly chocolate. He loves sweets so heāll just sort of much on them throughout the day. And if youāre a child and are nice to him (and are actually brave enough to come in his shop) he might just let you have some of his secret stash.Ā
Okay last one is that after Zelena Rumple goes back to the whole not eating much thing. Thereās a deleted scene where she makes him eat his favorite food, meat pie, right after his son died. He associated that food with celebrations so her forcing him to eat it was like her making him celebrate his sonās death. So after heās free he sort of avoids food when he can. He doesnāt want to worry Belle so heāll make the food disappear with magic and stuff but he doesnāt eat much at all. He will still eat sweets without much prompting but anything else is a struggle.
