Your analyses are always interesting. What are your thoughts on Davidās expression in the latest pics?
(Grouping these together since theyāre about the same subject.)
Well, it truly is the end of an era (for now), isnāt it? Iām definitely sad to see David de-gingered and Michael un-blond. I suppose I should put the new pictures posted by AL in here, too, since those were just posted:
I just...I feel like there are a lot of things going on here, and Iām not sure all of them are good. Iām not even sure I would use the word ārecreatingā to describe this new post from AL, so much as copying almost verbatim what Georgia posted two days ago, right down to the hashtags (nevermind that #exhumed doesnāt really seem to make much sense here). It feels contrived and calculated, like something that was done on purpose to elicit a specific reaction.Ā
For me personally, what I see in Davidās expression is what I also now see in Michaelās: That Georgia/AL are celebrating the end of filming GO 2, but David and Michael are not. I have no doubt that theyāre both glad to return to their regular hair colors/be done with a grueling filming schedule, but I also think the shoot meant a great deal to Michael and David. They were together almost every day for nearly six months on a hugely emotional shoot, and that has to be a difficult thing to say goodbye to.
So to see these posts and Georgia/AL using David and Michael as props in them and seemingly lowkey emphasizing the fact that the boys are ātheirsā again just sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth, in that regard. I think thatās also what ultimately keeps me from finding this as cute as some folks do--that David and Michael probably are having feelings about the shoot being over (especially Michael, given how attached he is to Good Omens and the character of Aziraphale), and thatās sort of being plowed over in favor of these orchestrated posts.
All that being said, I still think David is a beauty, but that color on Michael isnāt really the most flattering (though I imagine it must be difficult to go from blond to his natural color, and heāll probably look more like himself as time goes on and his hair grows out). I think what I miss even more than the blond curls is how happy Michael seemed when he had them, because he got to play Aziraphale again.
Hopefully a third season of GO isnāt too far off in the distance, and Michael wonāt have to say goodbye to the blond (and David to the red) for too long...
