Hug and Spin

Her eyes glance around, taking in the shops and people around her. No one really pays her mind, thank goodness, but at the same time….it feels all too familiar….years full of familiar actually. Once the novelty of her sickness had faded and she started special classes, no one seemed to see her anymore. No one seemed to care. No one except sensei and Haruka of course.

And maybe she liked it that way. It’s better this way anyway. Less to explain. Less to deal with.

But at the same time, this feels….this feels a little depressing. Especially since she still has no idea where she is.

Or if she’s even still alive….

A good question, if you ask her, considering the last thing she remembers is feeling dizzy and sick, and collapsing in the hallway of her school. Only to wake up here of all places. Nothing familiar popped out to her, no names, no faces….. She frowns. No she doesn’t like this at all.

And suddenly a rush of relief pours through her — so sudden, too sudden because now she’s pushing through the people toward him. Reaches him and without even realizing it she has her arms tight around him, her eyes closed.

"It’s you! You! That means…….I’m alive!! I’m not alone!" And she spins him once or twice, laughing at the very thought. Laughing, laughing and then crying. Crumbling to the ground and crying.

Ok not really crying. But she feels like it. She’s horrified….hugging…..hugging a stranger….this kid….this boy she doesn’t even know…..
