Update: Scotland is a mindbending experience so far. I thought I’d be posting regular photos…but while my walking is at an all-time high (9 miles yesterday, 7 the day before, etc.), and I’m taking tons of photos, there has just been no time to sort through the photos, choose worthy ones, edit and tweak as necessary, etc. So I just wanted you to know I haven’t forgotten my whole thing over here.
The photo shows Dunollie Castle, built by the Clan MacDougall many hundreds of years ago and bearing testimony to our might, perseverance and ingenuity even today.
More to come, friends.

Caisteal Dhùn Ollaigh, An t-Òban by Rory Francis on Flickr.
Via Flickr: Dunollie Castle, Oban / Chaidh an caisteal seo a thogail le Eòghann Mac Dhùghaill san treas linn deug, ach tha dùn air a bhith air an làrach seo bho am rìoghachd Dhál Riata. Tha an caisteal fosgailte dhan mhòr-shluagh a-nis, saor ‘s an asgaidh agus tha iomairt air a chur air bhonn gus airgead a thogail airson an togalach a thoirt air ais mar a bha. Gu dearbh, ‘s fhiach a thadhal air. The present castle was built by Ewan MacDougall in the 13th century, but there has been a fortification here since the days of the kingdom of Dál Riata. The castle is now open to the public, with no entrance fee, and a public appeal has been launched to pay for its restoration. It’s well worth a visit.
