One night we got together a group to run through BC Heroic Dungeons. Everyone in the group got the achievements for each dungeon we did - which surprised me, seems I wasn't the only one that missed doing all that at that level after all. :) It was casual, easy going and fun. It was only after we got the group together that anyone asked who was tank and heals, but we sorted that out in our haphazard manner and away we went.
We flew through the dungeons quickly and easily, a few little over-pulling mistakes were made but nothing serious. Then all of a sudden Orcflavoured opened his mouth...
"I remember when this was hard."
Not even 5 seconds later we had a complete wipe. I grabbed a screenshot of our bodies scattered down the hallway for it, which I'll post later, when I find it. There wasn't really anyone to blame for the wipe, it was just one of those things, but it was quite funny and I'm going to blame Orcflavoured for opening his mouth and cursing us with what he said. lmao
If that wasn't funny enough, we ended up with a spontaneous group running through normal WotLK dungeons the night before. It started with Mystiquei, Lytbringer and myself, with Dureturd eventually joining us from the third run onwards.
The first tank that lined up for the dungeons that we got into re-lined up with us and decided to stay til the end. He was quite surprised to find himself grouped with 3 lvl 80's that "should" have been doing heroics and raids, and it wasn't until near the end of the second dungeon that he suddenly realised that we were all from the same guild. He was also on the same realm as us and by the time we were all done for the night he ended up joining our guild.
We had a ton of fun. I was a little concerned with my playing at first because I couldn't seem to be able to avoid pulling agro off the tank and was worried that he might get a bit annoyed with me for it. It became clear after someone posted the damage stats into chat why I was pulling all the agro off him... I was doing half of the group's total damage... oops! lol I tried to tone it down for a while but even that didn't work so I just started blasting everything and didn't care if I ended up with half of each mob surrounding me, they'd be mowed down in a couple of seconds anyway. lol
Lytbringer also had some seriously bad problems with drawing agro and even I couldn't draw it away from him so easily as I could the tank, so in the end after a few jokes about him being the better tank, he ended up doing the tanking! The tank certainly didn't mind at all, we all thought it was hilarious that our clothie priest was the tank, our tank was dps, one dps was doing as much dps as everyone else combined, and the other was unable to do much more than run along behind trying her best to just keep up amidst the laughter. Once Duretard joined us we also had a dps doing healing as well. lmao
A long time ago I was in a random group in the same dungeon, first time I'd ever been there, when everyone jumped off a ledge I followed and fell... and fell... I typed into chat "Oops... Don't worry about trying to find my body to res me guys, I'll run back in, will be quicker", someone replied "huh? you're not dead. Where did you go?" "I'll be dead soon, I'm falling" "where?" "Umm... I don't know... down? lol I stepped off the edge and there was nothing to land on..." [Release Spirit] "finally! bbs"... the group was baffled as to how it was that I could do that, and it left me with the impression that of the one unlikely spot someone could fall it had to be me! But my mind was set at ease when not only did Mystiquei fall in exactly the same way, but Lytbringer did it as well - twice! hahaha!
It might not have been a productive way to run dungeons with regards to gearing up and all that stuff, but it's definately a far more enjoyable way to play WoW. The annoying part is getting high enough level and/or geared enough in the first place to be able to do stuff like that.
