I've been thinking about the height differences between One Piece characters and Reader inserts. And how many of the things are built with One Piece characters heights in mind and how that could affect Reader or Y/n or OC.
For example: Doors and the placement of the door handles.
Imagine One Piece yanderes (big characters) kidnapping their darlings. They put their darling in a room, but they don't bother locking the door because their darling too short the door handle đ
The freakishly tall yanderes truly are the most disrespectful đ
Some, like Katakuri, only point this out as a factual statement. He isn't even trying to be mocking. In his eyes he's just reminding you that you can't actually reach the doorknob, so don't waste your time on it and risk hurting yourself in the process. If it weren't for his observation haki, he would've been surprised when you threw something at him in response.
Someone like King would be a bit more sarcastic about it. Like, oh really? You think you can stage some grand escape from here? You can't even open the door on your own! Dumbass. I feel like most of the Beast Pirates would be like this, just with varying levels of antagonism: Queen being the absolute worst, Page One probably being the least offensive.
And even though he isn't tall enough for this scenario, I could see Doflamingo also saying something like this purely to get a rise out of his darling.

Doflamingo was searching for Rosalyn for 15 years?!! How long did it take for him to learn of Reader?
Somewhere in that 15 year time period- honestly, somewhere along when he manages to somehow grab hold of Rosalynâs documents by also learning to what she changed her name into. Through that and interrogating a lot of people (done through his officers bc he has shit to take care of back at Dressrossa), he also learned that she had a kid, and also got their legal documents.
I know it's a yandere fanfiction (of course, I dont condone any real life yandere), but I still found the dynamic between Choso and Reader to be weirdly cute. I know Choso was this đ€ close to killing 'sibling', but still.
I do have a question. Does Choso think that Reader is a reincarnated sibling of his?Not exactly like his cursed painting brethren, but a similar situation where a certain character's sibling was reincarnated. The reincarnated sibling appeared to have no cursed energy, nor any knowledge of curses. Just a reincarnated sibling with a normal life.
Sorry if my question became confusing
His naivete and desperation to gain his sister's approval is endearing it its own way lol
Choso honestly doesn't know what to make of her existence and the technicalities of how they're related. It doesn't change anything for him. She's his sister and that's all that really matters as far as he's concerned. He's much more concerned with making up for lost time than investigating how they're related. The fact that he's grappling with grief only exacerbates it. Being able to distract himself by doting on a new sibling helps to soothe the pain and fill the gap.
Fizzy-Chan, I just remembered a post of headcannons or a scenario (I can't remember, but it was wholesome). In this post, Rosinante has a wife, and she is pregnant. He babyproofed the whole house because he wanted to keep his wife and child safe đ„ș Babyproofing their house ended up being more useful to him than his wife and childđ€Łđ€Ł
I just can't help but think that this exact thing would have happened if lived
Oh. My. God.
That is the most adorable thing ever.
He totally would. OMG đ„șđ„șđ„șđ„ș
Hahaha, the baby-proofing being more useful for Rosi than his wife and child is on point đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
What do you think OPLA Buggy's relationship with Lucky would be like? Would she still try to fool Buggy by falsely claiming to be part of his crew?
Buggy abducting the whole crew the way he does in season one would make the original gaslighting plan impossible, so no. There is a similar dynamic where Buggy is persistently trying to recruit her by insisting that she IS a part of his crew because he said so despite her telling him no over and over again.
So like he's still acting like she was a part of his crew and was stolen away even though she literally never indicated that she was so much as considering it. It makes the entire Straw Hat crew viscerally uncomfortable and puts them on the defense any time he so much as glances at Lucky.

I wonder if this is how Lucky is perceived by the World Government and the rest of the world.
Lucky from the perspective of the WG: âšïžThat is a lovely power system of haki and devil fruits yous got here; let's just ignore thatâšïž
*Doesn't react to even an emperor's conqueror's haki*
*Kills an admiral*
*More unexplainable events ("A"s doing)*
"She must have some other worldly power! There's no other explanation for this"
Lucky confounds the government. They feel like they can't establish a single damn thing about her.
"She must have haki!" Then she never appears to use it and has immunity to it.
"Clearly these are devil fruit powers!" She can swim and sea stone cuffs don't so much as make her feel weak.
"Well, at least she's weak! The rest of the crew are the ones we really need to worry about!" She murders an Admiral.
"At least she's only connected to a small crew of newbies!" And then she spends two years bouncing around between the Kidd Pirates and fucking Shanks. Oh, and Whitebeard publicly invited her to join his crew as thanks for saving Ace.
They are all beating their heads into walls. This woman is an enigma.
What if little Lucky got lost and ran into either Buggy or Smoker. Little Lucky is scared because they lost the strawhats.
Little Lucky thought they were following one of the Strawhats but was unknowingly following someone else, which happened to be either Smoker or Buggy.
(Ever had those moments as a little kid when you thought you were following your mother, but you were just following some random adult?)
And Buggy or Smoker is like, "Who's baby/kid is this?" Little Lucky looks like they're about to cry, then Buggy or Smoker panics says something like, "Wait! I'll help you find your parents!".
Either Buggy or Smoker take it upon themselves to find who is responsible for this child (little Lucky). Buggy or Smoker go up to random people saying, "Is this your kid?". By the time they find who is responsible for little Lucky (Strawhats) , they end up bonding with little Lucky and become attached.
Oh I did that once. Ran up to and hugged a woman that looked identical to my mom from behind. I was so mortified that I still remember this clearly like 20 years later.
Anyways
Usually I skip non-canon anime only stuff to avoid confusion, but I have included an anime only character in this one because it was too funny to leave him out.
Not What It Looks Like
Yandere Smoker x Child Reader
2.9k words
Once again, Smoker found himself staring down a pirate, though the pirate in question hadnât noticed him yet. He didnât even need to double check with a poster to confirm who this one was. Buggy the Clown was a very distinct looking individual.
Smoker took advantage of the fact that he was distracted to get closer and overhear the conversation he was having. Buggy was crouched down and talking to a small child. A little girl that couldnât be more than five, if that. You looked distraught and confused.
âW-What do you mean? My mom isnât here,â you sniffled loudly and scrubbed at your face.
âSheâs gotta be, come on just think. Sheâs about this tall, looks just like you but with some bandages on her head,â Buggy pleaded with you, grasping onto your arms and looking desperate.
You flinched away, and Smoker decided it was his time to intervene. Using his devil fruit, he surrounded the clown with plumes of smoke to trap him. Buggy let out a screech upon finally noticing him and promptly disassembled his body to slip away. Which he was able to do successfully, much to Smokerâs chagrin.
Giving chase should be his number one priority, but his attention was drawn to the teary eyed girl in front of him. There were visible tear tracks going down your face, and your mouth was agape. Made sense, he supposes. This was probably your first time witnessing a devil fruit power.Â
Crouching down to be closer to your height, he attempts to comfort you, âYou alright kid? Did that pirate hurt you?â
The question snapped you out of your daze. You rubbed at your face and shook your head, âIâm okay. He didnât hurt me, he was just asking a bunch of weird questions.â
âLike what?â He had to admit that he couldnât even imagine what a pirate could possibly hope to learn from someone as young as you.
âHe kept asking about my mom, but the questions didnât make any sense. I think he was lying about knowing her,â you mumbled.
âWhere is your mom, is she nearby?â
You became shifty at the question and nervously fidgeted your hands. It took a few seconds of anxiously looking around for you to come up with an answer, âUm⊠She isnât here. Sheâs⊠gone?â
That was a strange way to answer the question, you didnât seem to know how to answer it. Smoker really didnât like that, and some alarm bells started going off in his head. He sighed when he saw you attempt to wipe off your face again. Digging around in one of his pockets, he pulled out a handkerchief and used it to properly clean you off. Fortunately, you let him do so without a fight and seemed to have calmed down slightly.
Given how long heâs been living here, he was able to guess that you werenât local. Probably with some people passing through, but who? Might as well ask, âWho are you here with, kid?â
âMy friends,â you answered simply.
He quirked a brow at that, âAre these friends your age?âÂ
You shook your head, âNo, theyâre all grown ups.â
Your story was getting weird, so he pressed further, âAre any of them your family?â
âNo.â Your face pinched, and again you looked unsure of your answer, âWell, Nami told me to call her âbig sisâ, so I guess she is?â
So youâre traveling with friends that are all much older than you, your mom is âgone?â, and one of these friends is telling you to call her âbig sisâ. Something is definitely going on here, and he doesnât like it at all. Could this get any weirder? He asks you how long youâve known these friends of yours.
âSince yesterday.â
Oh. It could get weirder. This was starting to sound like a human trafficking case to him, and he couldnât let that go under his watch. Looks like he would have to put his pirate hunting on hold for the time being.
He held out his hand to you, âIâm Captain Smoker, whatâs your name?â
You hesitated for a moment before gently taking his gloved hand in both of yours, âMy nameâs Lucky. Iâm not a captain or anything, though.â
âHow about I help you find your friends again?â He needed to meet them for himself, just to make sure you arenât in the middle of being trafficked.Â
You anxiously squeezed his hand and looked nervous, âI dunno⊠Iâm not supposed to go with strangers. Nami is already gonna be mad at me for walking away and getting lost.â Your lip trembled and you looked like you were about to start crying again.
âDo you want ice cream? Iâll buy you some if you let me help you,â he internally cringed at this. He shouldnât be encouraging you to take bribes from strangers, but he needs you to cooperate with him for your safety.
Instantly, your eyes lit up at the prospect of getting a treat, âReally?!â
Looks like heâs got you on his side now. That was easy. He smiled at you and ruffled your hair before returning to his full height, âYes, really. Come on, kid. Weâll get ice cream and then find your friends.â And possibly arrest them, but thatâs neither here nor there.
You still had a hold on his hand, but now with only one of yours as you walked alongside him, visibly excited about ice cream. At least he was able to defuse the situation and avoid having you cry again.
There was an ice cream shop not far from here, so it didnât take long to get there. You were bouncing up and down in place and chanting about ice cream while waiting for your turn. Some older ladies seated at a table nearby were cooing at the sight. Smoker overheard one of them calling this a âdaddy-daughter dateâ. He shot them a sideways glance, but didnât deem it worth it to correct them.
As soon as youâd gotten your ice cream, you thanked Smoker and happily started eating it, seemingly forgetting all about being separated from your friends. He supposes heâll have to remind you about it.
âWhere was the last place you saw Nami, kid?â
You perked up, then went into thought for a moment while licking your treat. You hummed, âI think we were at a clothes store? I donât remember which one, I wasnât paying attention.â
That really didnât narrow it down at all. There were tons of clothing stores in Loguetown. âDo you remember where the store was?â He asked, desperate to get any other details.
âI dunno, I think it was close to the docks,â you shrugged.Â
Alright, that still didnât help much, but it looks like thatâs all heâs going to be getting out of you in regards to that. Asking about Nami would probably get him farther, âWhat does Nami look like?â
While you rambled out a description of her, he was scanning the crowd. No one in his line of sight matched what you were telling him, but that wasnât particularly shocking. This is a big town, he was unlikely to track a single person down that quickly. At least her orange hair would stick out to him if they did cross paths.
âHey mister, how come thereâs a big stain on your pants?â You asked from slightly behind him. Youâd relinquished holding hands with him in favor of your ice cream, leading to you falling a little behind.
Stain? Oh, wait. Thatâs right, a kid ran into him with her own cone earlier, heâd already forgotten about it. He waved off your inquiry, âMy pants ate someoneâs ice cream, donât worry about it.â
You took a decisive step away from him, protectively holding your cone, âYour pants arenât going to eat mine, too, are they?â You were staring at his pants suspiciously, as if they were about to come after you if you didnât keep an eye on them.
A brief, quiet chuckle escaped him, âThey might if you arenât paying attention and run into me.â This made you take another step back. Okay, maybe that wasnât the best thing to say if he didnât want you getting separated from him.
âHow about you sit on my shoulders? That way you can look for your friends and my pants wonât be able to reach your ice cream.â
After a moment of weighing your options, you agree and allow him to place you on his shoulders. Heâs pretty sure that youâre far too focused on your treat to really help him look for your friends, but now they will be able to see you. Admittedly, this came with the risk of them noticing him too and turning tail to run. While he would prefer to arrest them, at least you would be spared from whatever fate they had in mind for you.
Strolling around the docks would likely be the best course of action. At least one of them could be on the ship, and you ought to be able to point out which one is theirs. Smoker took a less traveled side road to get there. It was the fastest way, plus it would be nice to get a break from how crowded the other streets were. Currently, you two are the only ones here.
âI. Cannot. Believe you.â
Smoker came to an abrupt halt. He knew that voice well, though he could fathom why he would be saying such a thing to him.
âWeâve known each other for years, how have you never told me?â His naturally gruff voice, thick with a southern drawl, plainly revealed how betrayed he felt. It was still unclear as to why.
âWhat are you going on about, Masterson?â Smoker turned to the side, eyes landing on the local bounty hunter, Daddy the Father. Though Smoker much preferred his actual name to such a ridiculous moniker. Masterson had just exited a candy store. Several shopping bags were on one arm, while the opposing hand was holding his daughterâs. Her blonde curls bounced as she looked back and forth between them, seemingly also confused by the interaction.
âHow have you never told me about your daughter?! She looks like sheâs about Carolâs age, they couldâve been friends this whole time!âÂ
Smoker stiffened, this was the worst possible misunderstanding that could have happened today. âNo. No, no, no. This isnât-â
âWeâre friends arenât we? How could you do this to me?â Masterson put a hand on his hip, the shopping bags loudly crinkling against each other, and glowered at Smoker accusingly.
His gloved hand pinched the bridge of his nose, âWe are colleagues, Masterson. I havenât d-â
âQuit beinâ so formal, you can just call me Daddy,â Masterson, dead set on not letting Smoker get a word in, waved his hand dismissively.Â
âAbsolutely not.â Smoker keeps talking even when Masterson tries to cut him off again, âThis is not my daughter, sheâs just a lost child that Iâm helping. Thatâs it.â
Masterson huffed, âYou donât need to lie to me, the jig is up. Youâre gonna try tellinâ me that you buy ice cream for and carry around every lost kid you find? Is that your story?â
Carol gasped, âOh! Can we get some ice cream too, daddy?â
The once rough voice completely transformed and took on a much lighter and gentler tone, âOf course, pumpkin! Just as soon as weâre done talking.â His voice went right back to normal when he faced Smoker again, âI mean, really? Youâve kept this from me for- How old are you, sweetie?â The voice changed again. It was bizarre hearing it switch up so rapidly.
âIâm four,â you answered plainly, apparently not caring at all about all the previous talk of Smoker being accused of being your father.Â
âYouâve kept this from me for four years?!â
âI just met her today! She isnât my kid!â He felt you get jostled a bit from his outburst. It probably wouldnât be great for him if you dropped an ice cream cone on his head because he startled you. Smoker took a deep breath before gently grabbing you off his shoulders and setting you on the ground. You looked up at him briefly, but your attention was stolen away by Masterson.
The man had crouched down to be more on your level, âIs that your daddy?â You hadnât even answered yet, but he was already smirking, no doubt thinking he was about to win this argument.
âNo,â just like that, you wiped the smug look off his face. You hummed in thought while licking at your treat, âI donât think I have one anymore.â You sounded disconcertingly nonchalant about this revelation. Now youâve confirmed that neither of your parents are in the picture.
Mastersonâs eyes softened and a frown tugged at the corners of his lips. Then, like a light went off, he looked up at Smoker with his eyebrows raised while gesturing towards you.
âWhat are you- No. I know what youâre getting at, and no,â he was not about to entertain this insane idea for even a second.
âBut the poor thing doesnât have a daddy, have a heart!â
âI canât just adopt every kid without a family that I come across,â he canât believe heâs even having this conversation right now, all because Masterson got such an absurd idea into his head. He has far more important matters to attend to, namely figuring out what is going on with your whole family situation and your âfriendsâ.
âWell maybe not all of them, but why not this one? Sheâs already grown on you at least a little bit if youâre buying her ice cream,â the man was borderline pleading with him at this point. It was unfathomable as to why he was so hung up on this idea, but Smoker frankly could not be bothered to care enough to get to the bottom of it.
âYouâre talking about this like sheâs a stray dog I found on the street.â Smoker ran a hand down his face and sighed before sparing you a sideways glance. Mercifully, you didnât appear all that bothered by the odd exchange going on between them. He spoke in a lower tone in hopes of keeping it that way, âBesides, thereâs⊠more going on here.â
A colder, hardened edge flashed in Mastersonâs eyes, he definitely got the hint. He patted Carol on the back and nudged her towards you, âWhy donât you get to know your new friend, daddy has to talk business for a minute.â
The little girl didnât need to be told twice, and quickly scurried over to you and started introducing herself.Â
Smoker and Masterson put some distance between themselves and the children. Still close enough to keep an eye on you two, but far enough to have a chance to talk without being overheard.
Masterson pulled out a pack of cigarettes, shaking one out onto his hand, âWhatâs going on?â
âTrafficking from the looks of it. Her parents are absent, but her answers have been unusual regarding them.â Smoker decided to swap out his cigars for a couple of new ones now that he had his hands free again. âWhat really bothers me is that sheâs here with âfriendsâ that are all adults that she met yesterday.â
Masterson exhaled a puff of smoke, and shook his head, âSounds about right. Saw a lot of that sort of thing back when I was still a traveling bounty hunter. They tell kids these fantastical stories to get them to come with them willingly so itâs easier to smuggle them. That girl probably thinks sheâs going to a new family, or something of the like.â He glanced over to where you and Carol were with pity in his eyes, âYou know who you're looking for yet?â
âIâve got a description for one of them. A redheaded woman with a tattoo on her shoulder named Nami, but I havenât encountered her yet. I was going to take her to the docks so she could point out their ship to me.â
The bounty hunter nodded, âGood idea, there could be more kids on board. You want help?â
âIf youâre not too busy. An extra pair of eyes-â
âOh! Thatâs one of my friends!â Your voice cut through the air in an excited squeal.
Both of them went on high alert instantly. Mastersonâs hand hovered over his holstered gun and plumes of smoke began curling off of Smokerâs body as they both frantically surveyed their surroundings. No one else was here. Rather than running towards someone, you bounded over to a wall.
A wall with bounty posters plastered all over it.Â
Oh, no.
Your empty hand excitedly slapped one poster in particular and you looked over your shoulder at Smoker with a smile on your face, âHeâs one of my friends! Itâs cool you got a picture of him!â
A bitter, vicious sensation seeped into Smokerâs heart as he glared at the poster. A young boy smiled back at him, not a care in the world to having his picture taken for a bounty poster. Monkey D. Luffy. Wanted dead or alive for a startling sum of 30,000,000 berry.Â
Of course pirates were behind this. Everything was starting to come together and make more sense. Not that it changed much. He was still going to be arresting these friends of yours, just now he didnât need to investigate them for a solid reason to do so.Â
âIs he now? Thatâs good to know,â Smoker ground out while continuing to stare at the mocking grin. âDonât worry, Iâll find him for you.â
And make sure the bastard rots in prison, but you didnât need to know about that part.
Rollin-san, I have a question that has nothing to do with fanfiction. I understand that this is none of my business.
Question: Do you listen to the song "Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q?
That song was on the playlist the grocery store I used to work at played every single day, so looking it up just now gave me war flashbacks to working in customer service lmao
