Did a video about what our Duel Spirits would be. Seemed like something different that not a lot of people have broached. Let us know what you would have; and give some stories behind it.

I got a copy of my govt. assigned duel spirit.

Okay I am recently answering the Yu-Gi-Oh! 30 day challenge questions even though it is past its due date (Currently in number 7) and I just had another epiphany of the Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V series. It could be subject to change in the upcoming episodes but Arc-V so far is the only series without duel spirits. Duel Monsters has a lot of references to them as duel monsters game was created in Egypt with a person’s Ka being sealed in a stone tablet. There’s also the Egyptian God Cards that kind of cursed Pegasus to the point he had them sealed in Egypt. There’s when Yugi and Yami visit the duel monsters world in ‘Waking the Dragons’ arc. In Gx there’s the Winged Kuriboh Yugi gave to Jaden and soon Ojama Yellow that Chazz acquires along with some other duel spirits for his match against his brothers. There’s Jesse Anderson and his Crystal Beasts and (I didn’t watch Gx completely) I think the characters were sent to a duel monsters world and later Jaden fused his soul with Yubel (Probably making their dynamic with Jaden being the Ba and Yubel his Ka). In 5d’s there’s Luna with Kuribon and the Spirit World. In Zexal you might not consider it but Number 96: Dark Mist with his possession of Astral. Heck any number card in general could be considered a spirit (even if all the number cards are Astral’s memories they seem to have lives of their own as even Dark Mist tried to convince Astral that all the numbers want is destruction meaning that even though they are Astral’s memories each number has a life of its own. Hope was the only one that defended Astral during those episode 37-38). During the Zexal 2 we have the Barian Emperor’s and how their real memories are sealed in cards like Astral only they were manipulated by Don Thousand (Conveniently they are also all number cards) and later there is Rainbow Kuriboh in the series (though it might be less of a spirit seeing as Yuma can actually touch it but it still guided Yuma to Astral). Now we have Arc-V and so far (Episode 104) I have not seen a duel spirit (Besides the 4 dimensional dragons wanting to become one). This could actually be because of the Action Duels themselves as they make monsters tangible so its more like the monsters are real. (I have a theory about how the monsters actions are customizable because of how Yuya’s monsters move compared to other monsters. For example there’s Discover Hippo. If you look at episode two it poses with Yuya and during his duel with Sora shakes off the sweets that they end up running to. In episode 62 it also appears to be picturing itself how it will look when it jumps onto Abyss Stage - Treasure Ship of the Seven Lucky Gods and when Yuya ends his turn it starts to cry at him [I know it was more done for comedic effect and also for the fans to see how it would look if it actually jumped on the ship]. How does this relate to that theory? Well remember that Yuya wants to be a Dueltainer like his Dad and that means interacting with his monsters. You Show Duel School focuses on interacting with monsters and the field so this means that customizable feature has to be on with different settings for how duelists interact with the monsters. Before Arc-V the monsters were usually holograms so duelists can memorize how each action looks and name it playing the Regular/Duel Disk way but with Action Duels there can be more to dueling as duelists now have to run/jump interacting within the field to find Action Cards (compared to just standing/sitting while playing the Regular/Duel Disk Way.) The most ‘spirit’ I have seen in Arc-V (besides the Dimensional Dragons/ namely Yugo’s Clear Wing that warps him through dimensions) is Yuto being inside of Yuya. I know there can be more additions to each series on Duel Spirits but these are the ones I have observed.
