Not the prettiest of constructions but very important and very functional. This is the bridge closest to Dublin Port and the sea. Here, the Liffey leaves the city and makes it’s way to the Irish Sea. The bridge is a vertical lifting bridge, hinged at the southern end and raising the deck as and when required. The bridge links the North Wall to Ringsend and was opened to traffic in 1984.
Dublin Alphabet – E for East Link Bridge Not the prettiest of constructions but very important and very functional. This is the bridge closest to Dublin Port and the sea.

A consortium including the state agency, US investment fund Oaktree Capital and Irish developers the Bennett Group have lodged plans with Dublin City Council for the 42,500 sqm office and residential project.
It is the largest lodged for the docks district since it was turned into a “strategic development zone” – opening up the site for fast-track planning permission.
In a statement today, the syndicate said construction on the project could start in the first 3 months of next year subject to council approval.

This is a photo of Dublin's South Side showing the Aviva Stadium, the docks and Howth in the background. Photos of Dublin this lovely are rare and if your not from Ireland and have not been to Dublin it looks nothing like this beautiful when your on the ground.
It looks like one of those photos of what Dublin skyline would look like with such a structure built in the middle. If only It really looked like this is person i would probably enjoy dublin a little bit more than the rain and druggies that swallow O'Connell Street looking for something that i dont have.
