I have never visited Leinster Place before, or at least I donât remember doing so. Today i visited by accident rather than design. I arrived by investigating a rather ugly alleyway off Haroldâs Cross road.

RATHMINES ROAD LOWER AND NEARBY [A QUICK VISIT]-158188 by William Murphy Via Flickr: Rathmines is an inner suburb on the south-side of Dublin, about 3 kilometres south of the city centre. It effectively begins at the south side of the Grand Canal and stretches along the Rathmines Road as far as Rathgar to the south, Ranelagh to the east and Harold's Cross to the west. It is situated in the city's Dublin 6 postal district. Rathmines is best known historically for a bloody battle that took place there in 1649, during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, leading to the death of perhaps up to 5,000 people. The Battle of Rathmines took place on 2 August 1649 and led to the routing of Royalist forces in Ireland shortly after this time. Some have compared the Battle of Rathmines - or sometimes Baggotrath - as equal in political importance to England's Battle of Naseby. The battle brought a swift end to the ongoing Royalist Siege of Dublin. Rathmines has thriving commercial and civil activity and is well known across Ireland as part of a traditional "flatland" - providing rented accommodation to newly arrived junior civil servants and third level students coming from outside the city since the 1930s. In more recent times, Rathmines has diversified its housing stock and many houses have been gentrified by the wealthier beneficiaries of Ireland's economic boom of the 1990s. Rathmines, nonetheless, is often said to have a cosmopolitan air, and has a diverse international population and has always been home to groups of new immigrant communities and indigenous ethnic minorities.

Mr. Sour Patch Kid at Dublin 6
What is it with guys loitering outside the bar waiting for me? I'm already inside, chugging my beer!
Mr. Sour Patch Kid was really sweet and nice. When I went to the restroom, he was very relieved to see me return. He even made a joke about choosing Dublin 6 because there are no windows in the bathrooms. Hmm...
We chatted about tech and gadgets, gaming and sports, apartments and (awful) cable service... He was upset with himself when he revealed that he's a gamer, so I felt obliged to tell him about my obsession with Monkey Island. If you don't know, you're dead to me. Just kidding. Kind of.
Dublin 6 is a great little bar in the West Village that I liked lot. I will definitely have to go back there. I got a Blue Moon, which always preps me for summer. It was so hot and muggy yesterday, so I figured I might as well!
I assigned him some work: he has to look up IgnacioNYC on Facebook (and so should you!) and watch the clip from the latest How I Met Your Mother where they try to decide on what club to go to. It is too funny. Something came up in conversation that reminded me of it, though I can't remember now.

Robin: Oh, I like Focus, letâs go there! Ted: Where? Robin: Not Where, Focus! Lily: I thought Focus was closed. Barney: No, Was was closed, once Was shut down, it reopened as Closed. Marshall: So Closed is open! Robin: No, Closed is closed. Jerry: I donât know⊠third base, right! Robin: Ew, Third Base is all frat guys! Lily: Iâll go any place, okay? Ted: Not Okay! Okay is lame! Robin: Okay is not lame, Lame is a gay bar! Lily: Guys, shut up! Barney: No, Shut Up shut down. I canât believe I donât know the clubs anymore. Marshall: Guys, just pick a club, okay? Ted: Not Okay!!
