i mean, we do know that scrooge is The Capitalistic Ass and we still love him for that but this particular thing seemed so???no??? And it’s incredible how oblivious Scrooge seems to that, and Glomgold, being a working kid that knows absolutely nothing about Scrooge’s past and even if he knew he wouldnt care because hes a kid, is obviously enraged. and he had the right to be!

like hello, scrooge? you were a kid in 1877 and maybe a dime had a worth in that moment, idk, i dont know shit about economy, but you’re old now dude, you obviously need to know that a dime worths nothing to a kid in not only another country but with different circumstances of life, also richest duck in the world doesnt know about inflation? if someone is offering a service for a certain price and you accept, you have to pay them the actual amount, scrooge, especially if dont know each other at all. you dont know shit about glomgold’s life circumstances. i know you have good intentions but you should know better???

but this is not the first time that we had seen scrooge lacking the insight of seeing that not everybody is like him, so, not that surprised if im honest to myself. that he is actually unique in character, attitude in life, smarts and strength.

like maybe you turned out to be like you are because of the way of life in your time and the economy in your country, but this an actual kid in another country with other economics circumstances, with other parents, with other things to worry about. a dime worths nothing, but you giving a dime to a kid that does know how much his services worths? hell, that dime worths less than nothing.

your circumstances are completely different, scrooge, that dime worths nothing to him not only because is worthless now in this time but because he’s an intelligent kid offering a service with a fair paying system that you did not respect at all. even if you thought you were doing a good deed that does not gave you the right, you dont have the right to set what other people’s hard work worths.

look, if an old arrogant duck that it's supposed to be the richest duck in the world just gave me, an impressionable and probably really poor duck, a dime when i obviously deserved and gained the right amount fair and square, i would not only obviously be rightfully mad but i would try to overthrow him with the same lesson he taught me: to be an asshole to little kids even if they had done nothing wrong and to underpay other people over ridiculous pretenses.

i mean, im joking, i wouldn't (maybe i would have rob him but thats as far as i would go lmao jk) but goddam if that is not exactly what happened. it would have been incredible if they have shown that scrooge was oblivious wrong, so wrong, that his “innocent” views on life can be harmful for others, that little flinty deserved his dollar and him making a tantrum wasnt a bad thing because he was rightfully mad! but they way they showed it was weird and ticked me off. we see it as scrooge was the one right and getting mad and not glomgold, who took his anger into to the extreme and kind of ridiculed. NONE OF THIS JUSTIFY GLOMGOLD’S ACTIONS BUT DAMN NOW I UNDERSTANDS WHY IS HE LIKE HE IS.
