She was there for my first breath and I was there for her last. Thank you for everything grandma. Your new journey begins. This is hard to accept. Seeing your face on an obituary. Reading "RIP" next your picture. It is something I'll continue to struggle with for a while. My only solace is that you're no longer in pain and that your 91 years were lived to the fullest. I've never pictured a time when she wasn't in my life. I'm still attached to the physical. The spiritual part knows this isn't the end of her existence. But there's another part of me that really misses kissing her cheek and smelling her perfume. Placing her blanket on her when she got cold and bringing her water. I miss holding her hand when she was full of anxiety. I miss our talks and laughs. Saturday is just around the corner and it'll be the last time I'll see grandma in this reality.
