She had some really fun requested tags like Murder as a Love Language, Bad BDSM etiquette, Under Negotiated Kink... some of my favourite things. I was in the middle of another project, so I took a few weeks to plan out the scene, but when I finally started writing it, I just wasn't happy with it--I wanted something I knew Amara would enjoy and it just wasn't coming together like I wanted. I scrapped it and started rewriting, but no matter how many times I started writing, I kept hating what was going down on the page.

So, I took a step back and decided I needed a playlist. Music is usually a huge part of my writing process and I hadn't really put anything together, so of course it was feeling unfocused. I sat down and thought about the songs and sounds that I associate with Bucky Barnes and with Brock Rumlow and with WinterBones and about halfway through this coming together, an idea grabbed me that I absolutely loved--and, more importantly, I knew Amara would love, too.

Unfortunately, I also knew it wasn't gonna be done in time for the exchange--the outline alone was 4.5k and I only had a month left. So, I switched gears, polished up the playlist, and made it a shiny new cover. This is what I've been jokingly referring to as The Notebook.
