Standing Lug Sail. Note the attachment points and set against and away from the mast. Perfect sail. Mon Nèg is fitted with a 100 square foot standing lug sail. In Red! Here we go. Wish there was an Ilur like in this photo to sail with in the Mermentau Rive basin.

Did a web search for "small sailboat 14' ". found these images. What do you think is the perfect size adventure sailboat? I am partial to the 14' to 16' size. I had a 22' Sea Pearl, 12' SCAMP, 17' WindRider, and now a 14' Scaffie. This one at 14' 9" I think will remain my retirement boat. We will see ;-)

The Scaffie’s battery and solar controller are ready to install. Just lacking the hatch for where it will go. So for now it is burning in on the work bench.

Got the port side cleaned out and have two DeWalt 20v fans drawing air through the compartment. Tomorrow I’ll put it in the sun and bake it dry before I spray in the first coat of sealer. Now to get the starboard side cleaned out.

Removed the old foam and sheep’s wool that was stuffed in this broken plastic bag. Wet and molded.

Doing a little soldering. Extending the amidship bilge pump power cable. Still try to decide where to put a 100 amp hour battery and maintain the weight and balance of the Scaffie.

Cut out the seat for a deck storage hatch. Found flotation. Going to seal the compartment ends and use for watertight storage.
