@drummerbledsoe | The Call
Bay knows, from the moment she hangs up Emmettâs phone, she knows where he is. Who would have thought the day would ever come where Bay Kennish would be thankful to talk to Skye, yet here she stands. In a matter of seconds she picked up her phone and jacket, running out of Melodyâs house and towards her car in a fevered panic. Her mind was reeling, âPlease donât let him do anything stupid.â It isnât like him. Though for the the past year, Emmett has not exactly been himself, and it wasnât as though Bay had seen much of him recently. All she knew was that she was called home from China due to an emergency that Emmett was intent on downplaying.Â
Her knuckles were white from the death grip she held on the steering wheel. The journey feeling agonisingly slow, despite driving as fast as she can without risking another close encounter with the law. Soon enough she had reached the already fading CARLTON signs, though there was no time for Bay to reminisce on high school memories now, despite how saddened she is to see the state of the closed campus. She sprinted down as soon as she saw the figure by the gates, calling out despite herself.Â
As she approached, she squeezed his shoulder, not even letting her hand drop before she began signing as she spoke. âEmmett, what the hell were you thinking? We were worried sick, you donât just- you canât- you-â There was a pause as Bay tried to catch her breath, âHave you taken anything?â
