Got an ask that I will not be answering (the actual ask. I will be responding to the contents here). But damn. I guess I don’t really exist guys.
It basically said that songtives (like me) can’t exist because in order to be a person, (or alter), you have to be created from a personality, or be based off an existing personality. And that my personality is fake because songs don’t have them. And that the only real alters are ones based off characters or people.
Okay and?
Even if songs don’t have proper personalities, they still invoke emotions, and are created for a reason.
The writer (my dads Vess and II in this case), wanted you to listen and feel something.
And consider song themes? Like, yes, while songs might not have personalities because they are not a living, breathing, consciousness, they still portray things.
And anyways, a lot of alters with a source might not want to be treated as their source, or even act like their source at all. And even if they are source connected, their boundaries are to be respected. Even if they aren’t, same goes. You shouldn’t just automatically assume you can treat an alter like their source or that they ARE their source.
