I don't like Caleb so I don't really care about any of his ships, but at least shadowgast is way better than w*dojest. And I do like Essek (a normal amount, I don't understand the obsession with him, but whatever).

I'm used to not having Fjorester art in the gallery cause I think Liam they showed a long time ago that they don't care about it, so I'm not surprised either.

What I'm upset with is the lack of Jester because she was absolutely the mvp of this fight (with Cad and Fjord - no wonder they got the thumbnail. Laura is a queen), she died, she got the hdywdt and she still didn't get enough love.

But at the same time I'm not surprised either cause half the fandom stopped caring about her the second their ships died (which makes me think they never did anyway). And it pisses me off how much Jester was used as a prop to people's ships when she's one of the best characters in CR and Laura brought so much nuance and growth to her.

I wish Liam never made the decision that Caleb was in love with Jester. It has caused so much discourse and hate. People turning on Fjord because he was 'in the way'. People getting mad a Travis for romancing his ACTUAL wife (for in game character reasons too and not meta ones like so many anti's always suggest). It has put such a damper on what should have been something sweet and celebrated.

This is of course no way Liam's fault or intent, he just wanted to add onto his characters agnst and I have no doubt this whole dynamic was discussed by him, Laura, and Travis. But shippers can be so crazy.

I do get what you mean, anon, but honestly I wish he hadn't done it for reasons other than just to avoid discourse in the fandom, mostly because one sided romance is boring as hell, I don't think he's good at playing romance in d&d and the way he treated Caleb's feelings for her during the campaign always felt like a lack of development for the character instead of the opposite (and I hate when female characters are used as a tool for a male character's self pity).

I said it before how much I hated when people joked that Jester never healed and whatever, but thankfully I've never seen anyone complain specifically about her not healing Caleb.

But in case anyone wonders why I dislike w/j in “canon” but absolutely despise it every time I have to interact with it in fanon, this right here is the perfect example

Imagine seeing a post about how a female character is treated differently and how her feelings are not taken seriously compared to a male character’s and thiking the correct response is “well, this man gets hate too, actually”

WHAT A WAY TO MISS THE ENTIRE FUCKING POINT OF THE POST

I’m talking about how people act like Jester has no agency of her own, how her entire personal growth is ignored because of ships, how she’s accused of lacking character development all because she liked the same person for the entire campaign, meanwhile a male character can do the same fucking thing, without the development, and never get his feelings called out as “childish”. 

A woman having a crush after a month - that she admitted it needed to change and grow - is still seeing as bad

But a man saying he’s “uselessly in love” after a month - oh yeah, the highlight of romance 

I’m not saying L*am or w/j artists should get hate for their ship, people can ship whatever the fuck they want, that’s the whole reason I also always use the anti tag or “read more” when I post about it, BUT THAT WAS NOT WHAT THAT POST WAS ABOUT FFS, LEARN HOW TO READ BEFORE ANSWERING IT
