i  met  mercy  way  back  in  late  last  year  and  not  long  after  my  life  on  here  got  a  little  crazy .  she  BARELY  knew  me  and  could  have  easily  said  “ y’know ,  this  is  a  lot .  i  wish  you  the  best . ”  but  she  didn’t .  mercy  fucking  stood  by  me  through  so  much  shit  it’s  ridiculous .  so  many  days  she  just  checked  in  to  make  sure  i  was  okay ,  made  sure  that  i  was  eating  and  hydrating ,  and  just  made  sure  that  my  mental  health  was  intact  while  i  was  dealing  with  drama  and  bullshit .

there  was  something  about  that  that  brought  us  closer  than  our  characters  ever  could .  yes ...  she  became  a  HUGE  part  of  lilly’s  blog .  arnie  and  lilly  go  hand  in  hand  and  i’m  so  fucking  happy  to  have  that  in  character  interaction .  i  could  go  on  for  days  and  days  about  how  amazing  a  writer  mercy  is .  because  she’s  fucking  phenomenal .  but  that’s  not  what  this  is  about .

this  is  about  MERCY .

mercy  is  my  best  friend .  that’s  so  easy  to  say  and  to  know  because  this  woman  has  weekly  movie  dates  with  me .  she’s  around  so  much  that  my  boyfriend  has  become  part  of  our  friendship  and  vice  versa .  every  friday  night ,  i  know  i  can  always  count  on  a  really  good  time  no  matter  what  we’re  watching .  it’s  something  i  look  forward  to .  it’s  something  that  makes  my  week  so  much  better  after  things  have  been  shit .  or  it  makes  things  even  better  when  it’s  been  a  good  week .

i  remember  when  my  childhood  and  highschool  best  friend  passed  at  the  beginning  of  this  year .  i  was  an  absolute  wreck .  and  mercy  sat  and  let  me  talk  about  him ,  tell  her  stories  about  a  man  that  she  knew  nothing  about .  she  let  me  send  old  recordings  to  share  his  passion  for  his  music .  she  was  there  for  me  every  step  of  the  grieving  process  and  i  couldn’t  be  more  thankful  for  her  for  that .

there  is  no  shortage  of  things  i  could  say  about  mercy .  i’m  so  goddamn  lucky  to  know  her .  my  life  would  be  worse  without  her .  and  i’m  so  glad  she  puts  up  with  my  stupid  ass .

i  can  go  to  her  about  anything  and  everything .  i  can  laugh ,  joke ,  cry ...  i  can  talk  about  anything  that’s  going  on  in  my  life .  and  i  feel  like  a  part  of  hers .

i  just  wanted  to  say  that  on  today ,  your  birthday ,  i  love  you i  love  you  tons

“ I’m gonna need you to run that by me one more time. ”

HANDS raised borderline defensively as he HUFFS, trying to get a handle on the absolute DISASTER he’d just walked into, EYES glazing over the other man before he cocks his HEAD to the side, BROW furrowed as he speaks his peace candidly.

He had been late again but he didn’t think that it mattered. They weren’t at some haunted abandoned building like they were when Julian needed to be more serious about his work. Despite how late he could have been, he arrived just shy of being fifteen minutes later before he set the coffee that he had gotten on the desk behind where Stomberg was working. It wasn’t something that he thought about if anyone would believe that, and he would have no explanation for what he was doing. But when did he ever have a suitable explanation for half the shit that he did?

HELLO. I SURE AS HECK DO. Thank you so much for the ask!! I HAVE SO MANY. I’m so glad it shows that i love Malcolm and that you enjoy my writing!!

First, I’ve already made a post about this but Malcolm was bullied a lot. Because as a kid, when your father is a serial killer and it’s all over the news, kids tend to latch onto that and use it against you. Private school was hell for him for a while. Eventually, people also begin to bully his sister too. Now, she’s only five years old, so he can’t exactly go threaten five-year-olds but he did his best to protect her from all the bullying sent her way. It was mostly directed towards him.

Secondly - since his mom is an abusive narcissistic and obsessed with self-image. I firmly believe she was the ‘no sugar’ type of mom. Any candy he got was snuck to him by Gil, it’s why he has SUCH A SWEET TOOTH today. He often used to run away to the police station to spend time with Gil whenever it got too much with his mather.

Third - growing up, most books Malcolm read was of true crime. He was fascinated with it, still is too this day.

Fourth - His mother HATED that he had a snake growing up. Always said she prefered to have a puppy or a cat but since he was going through stuff, she thought buying his love would bring him back to her instead of pushing him towards his father. (of course this can change depending on the jessica i write with, this is just in general)

Fifth - Malcolm was definitely more close to his father than his mother. He adored his father, idolized him even, it was so devastating to him when he was arrested, even if he was the one to call the cops on him. malcolm still feels like he betrayed his father to this day.

sixth - after martin’s arrest, jessica saw a lot of martin in Malcolm, and took her anger out on him. called him the problem child, hit him more than once, took away his true crime books whenever he stepped out of line, even though that was the only thing helping him cope with things.

seventh - he had a few friends growing up but he always kept them at a distance since he had no idea if they really were his friends or just fascinated with the idea he had a serial killer of a father. he’s always been very sociable, even when he was a kid, but back then he had to warm up to you before he became really sociable. 

eighth - malcolm figured out his sexuality in high school. he’s had a few girlfriends and boyfriends but nothing that lasted long. they eventually left because the CPTSD he had became too much for them. 

ninth - there were times his depression got so bad he would literally have to be dragged out of bed for school or else he’d sleep all week long. 

tenth - he HATED going to social rich people events with his mother. he always begged her not to make him go. it never worked.
