Twisted Wonderland x Yo-kai Watch Crossover - Tribe Awakening
All Yo-kai (in Yo-kai Watch 1) fall under one of eight tribes based on their appearance, natures, or powers. When multiple members of a tribe team up, they trigger a Tribe Unity that increases their power, with the Unity Bonus getting stronger with more participants:
Charming: Tend to have cute appearances and be slighty vain. Specializes in speed. Unity Bonus increases speed.
Brave: Tend to put a high emphasis on physical strength. Specializes in physical attacks. Unity Bonus increases strength.
Tough: Tend to have dense bodies and stubborn spirits. Specializes in taking hits. Unity Bonus increases defense.
Mysterious: Tend to have strange abilities and appearances. Specializes in magical techniques. Unity Bonus strengthens magic.
Heartful: Tend to have pleasant appearances and be ditzy or distractible. Specializes in healing. Unity Bonus strengthens their healing abilities.
Slippery: Have serpentine bodies, resemble sea creatures, or have long body parts. Tend to be independent-minded. Most have inspirits that strengthen their allies. Unity Bonus increases resistance to negative effects.
Shady: Tend to be the most amoral. Specializes in inspirits that afflict their enemies with negative effects. Unity Bonus makes their inspirits harder to resist.
Eerie: Tend to have creepy appearances or personalities. Specializes in inspirits that afflict their enemies with negative effects. Unity Bonus strengthens the effect of their inspirits.
In a place like Night Raven College, such an ability is unimaginable. However, it exists, and eventually, it chose to be wielded by some of the students.
A Strange Discovery
(During the battle against Riddle's Overblot, Nate summoned Dromp, Komasan, and Cadin to help.)
Grim: Ack! (having trouble dodging Riddle's spears) Cadin: Keep your guard up. (slashes through another spear with his katana) Komasan: Eh! (dodges an attack and sends a fireball at Riddle's Phantom) Trey: You're both surprisingly agile. (freezes another blot spear with his magic, which is then destroyed by one of Cater's clones) Cadin: Well, we are from the Charming Tribe. Cater: I'd ask more, but now's tots not the time. Grim: Mrah... I am keeping my guard up! I just need... to... be faster! (Grim's eyes flash pink. When the light fades, his eyes have turned pink, and the area around his pupils turned into the Charming tribe's insignia.) Grim: Mrah! (Joining in the Charming Unity, Grim gained increased speed, allowing him to dodge the spears more easily.) Trey: Whoa! Where did Grim's speed boost come from? Cater: Hey, look at Grim's eyes! Komasan: Well, I'll be! Cadin: Hmm? Interesting... but we can leave that until later.
Dromp: Hmp! (punches through Riddle's spears, but a few manage to get through. Nate, Ace, Deuce, and the real Cater are hiding behind him and supporting with their long-ranged spells) Deuce: Dromp, you okay?! Dromp: It's sharp, but I'm good. Cater: Seriously, how are you friends with a talking hill?! Nate: Believe me, there are stranger Yo-kai out there! Ace: Less talk, more fighting! (blows away some more spears, but more keep coming at Dromp) Nate: I don't think Dromp can last much longer like this! Ace: Tch! If only we didn't have to hide behind him! Deuce: Yeah, Roughraff was surprisingly tough back at the mines! Cater: Roughraff? Mines? Ace: You know what? I'm done hiding! (runs out and charges at Riddle) Deuce: Same here! (follows Ace) Whisper: What are you doing?! You won't last a single blow! (Ace and Deuce let out a yell together, and their eyes flash orange. When the light fades, their eyes turned orange, and their pupils turned into the Tough tribe's insignia.) Ace and Deuce: YAAAAAH! (Ace and Deuce, empowered by the newly-formed Tough Unity, use their magic to block the spears.) Cater: Where did the sudden strength come from?! Dromp: I'm feeling... a Unity! (withstanding Riddle's attacks more easily) Nate: What? Whisper: Wait, could it be...? Never mind, let's get back to it!
(After the battle and Riddle promised to make amends...) Riddle: Wait... Ace, Deuce! Your eyes! They've changed color! Ace: Huh? Cater: Your eyes are as orange as my hair! Lookin' good, if I do say so myself! Trey: And their pupils have changed shape. They look like fists... Nate: It looks like the Tough tribe's insignia. Whisper: Grim's eyes have changed, too. Now they're pink and shaped like the Charming tribe's insignia. Deuce: How did this happen...? Cadin: Perhaps us Yo-kai have an effect on you mages that we hadn't anticipated. Grim was able to join our Charming Unity, and Ace and Deuce were able to form a Tough Unity with Dromp. (Ace, Deuce, and Grim's eyes go back to normal.) Ace: Huh? I feel different... Before, I felt like I could stand up to anything... Deuce: Same goes for me... Grim: Mrah... I'm feeling kinda tired... Whisper: It seems that with the Unities no longer active, they've returned to normal. Crowley: Hm, what could this mean? I've never seen or heard of anything like this. Nate: You haven't heard of Yo-kai before now, either. Whisper: I say we leave this for another time and get everyone to the infirmary for now.

Whisper: That about sums up what happened. Venoct: So, we might have an effect on their magic. Should we be concerned? Cadin: Grim, Ace, and Deuce seem mostly unaffected. They went back to normal after the battle. Jibanyan: we can activate unities outside of battle, though. maybe we should try experimenting with how they can utilize unities? Noko: there's also the chance this could happen again. Tattletell: Do keep us updated, Whisper, dearie. Whisper: Will do.
