A senior citizen makes coffee for us when we stopped at little cottage called 'driver reviver' on our last phase of nearly thousand kilometers road trip. The Driver Reviver program operates throughout Australia during school/university holidays and over long weekends to reduce fatigue-related crashes on Australian roads. The 'Driver Recover' is a community program that has been operating in Australia for more than 28 years. Powered by volunteers from a wide range of service organisations and community groups, members give up their own time to promote road safety and help to reduce the road toll. Fatigue is one of the biggest causes of fatalities on roads and highways, causing between 20 to 30 per cent of fatal road accidents around Australia — even higher in rural areas. The Driver Reviver' rest stops provide drivers and their passengers with a place to take a break, have coffee/tea and snacks, particularly on long trips. The coffee/tea and snacks are free of cost with a whatever amount of voluntary donation from the drivers who pause their trips here to revive. Government agencies in each territory support the Driver Reviver volunteers which includes essential safety guidelines, recommendation and approval of site locations, use of rest areas, toilet facilities, shelter and power. . #driverreviver #roadsafety #QLD #queensland #australia #roadtrip #wahidadnan #everydayaustralia #everydayeverywhere #volunteer #social #welfare #man #governmental #streetphotography #socialdocumentary #travel #travelphotography #traveling #driving #driver #l Roadtrip #lifeisgood (at Yaamba Driver Reviver) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtnpnAlHr7f/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1xy0kyfdyfzxj
