One, Prudence, just her entire existence. She serves no purpose other than to be “fantasy racist” against Sabrina for being a “half breed”. Why does this make me uncomfortable? Because she’s a black character being that way to a white character and at one point they literally attempted to lynch sabrina and immediately she had it turned back onto Prudence as revenge. Words cannot describe how wrong it is to have a black character play the oppressor role and use violence that historically in the states have been used against black people.

They also dive head first into blood libel. Its common place for witches in this show to kill and eat people, even saying at some point that Christian children are the devil’s favorite meal during the episode with the sleep demon. 

There’s a scene in mines where Sabrina and the weird sisters go to “teach a lesson” to four football players who’d been tormenting a friend of Sabrina’s and the joke was “oh look at that they made them think that they were kissing hot girls but really!! actually kissing each other!!” as we as having one implied to be gay himself. Holy homophobia batman. 

Gender has been brought up a handful of times but given how they handled everything else it’s probably going to be just the same way as the above. The few times I recall gender being brought up outside of Sabrina’s friend it was literally “man in a dress” levels of shit.

Posting pride/positivity that is not for gay men or lesbians, is not pretending that these two groups don’t exist.

When people discovered that we could screen for down syndrome guess what happened! Take a wild fucking guess!

People started getting abortions based on the fact that their child might be born with down syndrome! The same thing happens with literally anything else that can be discovered in a pregnancy screening. Sex-selective abortions still happen because “male” babies are valued more than “female” babies. 

People who have autism or any kind of neurological condition that gives the government the ability to say “No you can’t make your own decisions you can’t even vote” are forced into treatment and homes that leave them with psychological damage that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. If there was any kind of scientific backing for being gay bet your ass people would be shipped off in the same way. 

While I’m sure those people exist, because everyone always insists that their OTP is the best

Generally speaking, there’s a good fucking reason why people hate that ship. Like, look at how many people hate Snape. Look at how many people call his actions the fuck out. I’ve seen from the HP fan base that they’d be more than willing to tear to shreds a Snape/Lilly fic because of how awful he was to her and everyone around him.

Snape was an abusive bastard, and acknowledging that isn’t “bringing morality into shipping.” it’s acknowledging that they shouldn’t be together because it would only end badly. Not only that but media doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If you can understand why having representation for POC and LGBTQIA+ folks is a good thing, you can understand why portraying abuse in a positive light is a bad thing. 

“Romanticizing” doesn’t mean “putting it as a romantic trait”, it literally means “ deal with or describe in an idealized or unrealistic fashion; make (something) seem better or more appealing than it really is.” 

People don’t hate your ship because they want you to ship theirs instead. They hate your ship because you’re taking something that’s objectively bad, and talking about how cute or hot it is. You’re talking about how someone who threatens to hurt the person they “love” as something to be adorable.
