Party Animals || Chapter 4
Oh, man. Itās been about four days after you watched the dangling figure of your charismatic theistic friend for the last time, and while you think itās already about time for that visage to escape your mind -- itās still quite fresh, and tending to stick around for as long as it possibly can; Itās been a quiet couple of days in the halls of Haven Hotel, and while you often see your hosts wondering throughout the halls, no one was kind enough to strike conversation, neither did they seem too interested in engaging in one either. Itās a daunting and quite scary to try and picture what theyāre brewing for the next motive, and even if a good chunk of the familiar faces around you seem as stoic as usual, the sheer tiredness and fatigue generated by the events of these last weeks have drawn the last droplet of spirit out of anyone still battling their way through the challenges laid in front. The ones in front row have fallen, you can only wonder when your time will come.
With that deviation fresh in mind, you hear a sound echo the halls of Haven Hotel once again, a ādingā -- a familiar ādingā -- breaking the faƧade of stillness you were just beginning to idealize. Following the noise, as protocol, is a robotic voice, now oā so dearly familiar to all of you.
āDearies~~ Iām glad youāre all still hanging around, your preacher friend still is, so-- itās only appropriate, right?! Anyway, me and Eddy got news for all of you: Youāre free to go!ā Right as that chill of disbelief finishes running down your spine, she adds. āJust kidding! My, Iāve been storing that one for a while⦠No, really, though, we want to give you all a break -- challenge after challenge after challenge, itās been tough, itās been tough⦠So, with that in mind, we prepared a party for all of you! Itāll take place in our beloved club, of course, starting tonight, 9 PM, and -- yāknow, we put a lot of work into this, so, weād love if everyone participated. Okay? Thatās all for now, my little bastards...ā
The tension in her voice rises as she finishes that sentence, and with a adorable high-pitched yet still robotic āUntil then...~~ā, the transmission stops, leaving you to your thoughts;
And as the night dawned upon the few available windows on the Hotel, and few chats were exchanged about the current circumstance, eventually another small transmission aired, calling fourth the āguestsā, as for the party was about to start. With that menace haunting the minds of all, in a matter of minutes, one by one everyone started showing up, some more well-dressed than others, and some clearly more well-slept than others, but ultimately, the huge majority there seemed extremely displeased with the situation at hand; The club itself was as usual, blasting party music to party music, illuminated with various colors and artful light shows, the dance-floor, embedded into the ground near the DJ booth, flashing with equally colorful lights and shades. Itād be fun, if it wasnāt for the events that had just transpired;
