Hey there folks! So, 2021 wasn’t the greatest year for anyone, really, was it? We should probably temper our expectations of ‘22 as well, but let’s keep our fingers crossed. I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has bought a print, taken interest in what I do, hired me and generally kept the wheels in motion over the past 12 months. I love you all. Squeaking in, just before we put the year to bed, is this poster for the NYE run for @thediscobiscuits. I made this during a period of family bereavement and a dose of Covid, so it’s a wonder it happened at all, but it turned out being fun and a very welcome distraction. For my birthday I was given a kindle. I was extremely happy with it, but had some reservation because I enjoy the physical form of a book. It's now a few weeks on and this is what I've discovered. Digital books cost almost the same amount of money as a physical book. I find this odd because I make music which we are now advised is 'free' - anyway that is a whole other essay and I probably need to do a lot more research before I start crying into my keyboard. Back to my more interesting discovery. Because a digital book is the same price as a physical book why would I choose to make this purchase? Well, I think now, having tested the waters that in most case I won't. Text books / reference books yeah maybe, I was sold on the idea of being able to highlight and easily combine my notes you see! Rubbish, buy a highlighter :) Now the reason for this post. Today I went into a book shop before catching the train. I had zero intention of buying a book, I was merely passing the time. Well thank the book shop god I did, because today I discovered @drewmillward - look at this illustration!! Incredible - it made me buy the book! Had I bought this on my grey screen kindle I would not of made such a great discovery. Also I almost did not buy the book, I thought may it's a waste... never think this with books, art, music -indulge and discover. It wasn't until I sat down on the train that I really took in the wonder of the cover, read the forward, searched for Drew and saw all the insanely good work he does.
