after trying to fall asleep for several hours and failing, stevie found herself on the rooftop of the apartment building. it had started with the idea of a cigarette. while it dangled between her lips, the brunette grew distracted by the moon and stars, then again by some arguing happening on the street. the latter got most of her attention, until she started noticing the weather changing, as her bedtime t-shirt and shorts were no longer enough to keep her warm... then the door opened, and the brunette found herself turning around immediately to face the newcomer, shoulders tensed. who’d come up here at this hour? but when she saw the familiar, yet tired, face of her neighbor, she relaxed, offered him a smile. “hello stranger, welcome home.” she spoke after grabbing the cigarette and putting it between her fingers. “i’d love to give you grief about the time, but i have no idea what time it is anymore. was work okay tonight?” she paused to give him a playful, yet accusatory finger. “did you eat yet?” | ( @drewinston )
