I think the sky tried to write a poem today… and I accidentally walked into it.

I looked up and there it was

a towering bloom of clouds, rising like a slow, enchanted breath.

Not soft, not simple

but textured, alive, stirring with hidden stories.

They gathered themselves into a shape that felt deliberate,

like a thought the sky had been holding all day

and finally decided to release.

The tops curled bright and tender,

lit with that silver glow that feels like hope whispering

the kind you only notice when the world gets very still.

But underneath, the shadows swirled

in deep blues and smoky greys,

like quiet confessions tucked behind a brave face.

And somehow,

I felt seen.

I stood there, rooted, watching this cloud-giant unfold

a soft mountain growing out of thin air,

a dream pressed into the daylight.

It didn’t rush.

It didn’t apologize for taking up space.

It just rose

beautiful in its heaviness,

honest in its light.

A part of me wondered

if the sky was showing me what it feels like

to hold emotions that don’t fit neatly inside you

the way they gather, swell, change shape,

cast shadows, catch light,

and still remain something worth looking at.

For a moment, it felt like the clouds were breathing with me.

Like if I reached out my hand,

the whole sky might lean into it.

Eventually, the wind shifted

soft as a sigh

and the cloud-mountain began to unravel,

threads of white drifting off into the blue

like a story told and gently released.

But the feeling stayed.

That dreamlike hush.

That reminder that even the sky

has its dramatic, beautiful, complicated days

and it doesn’t hide them.

Maybe that’s the real magic:

nothing in nature ever apologizes for being layered.

And maybe I won’t either.
