     Never rock the boat.     I lived by that mantra.     Until, of course, Lucrecia came into my life.  And even then, I merely looked on, until it was too late.     Mother was such a peaceful person who disliked stirring up trouble.  I knew she would have never wanted me to become a Turk for her, but--revenge does terrible things to a person.  I think that conflict is always some sort of revenge or other, at least on this Planet.  Hurt me, and I hurt you back.     Not that I want that cycle to stop.  I am no stranger to conflict.     I realized early that not rocking the boat included killing in cold blood, not weeping over the fallen, and becoming a demon that hunted what Satan wanted.     Midgar is not so different from Hell, with its nine circles and Satan eternally in the middle, the very center of gravity.  I wonder what circle I live in--how terrible are my sins?  Ah, but it does not matter.     I decided long ago that murder does not affect me.  A person merely returns to the Planet.     Pity that I have cheated that Goddess of my eternal soul.  I will just remain here eternally.  I think that, one day, even Chaos will lose the ability to kill me.  That I will have no end.  I change, and with these changes I survive.  Currently I can only drown.  But that I believe only temporary.  Once I am removed from the water, would I not eventually heal?  There is truly no way I will return to the Planet.     Hojo truly created a monster.  I call myself human, but if I cannot die, what truly remains?     I will decide my own purpose.  I wonder how the Goddess and the others would feel about having two Harbingers at the end, but one that could not dissolve.     I dearly hope someone intends to rip the Lifestream from my very flesh.     Aha.  Aha.  Ahaha.                                                                                     --V.
