Misyr chuckled as he slid into a stool near where Edgar was sitting. "I wouldn't call this a madhouse persay, but it's definitely livelier than usual." Mostly thanks to Ignis, ranting and raving about something or other in the corner to the other two otherworldly beings in disguise. They had all been on high alert once the newcomer had come into the cafe, but he seemed harmless enough, and completely human. So they had to continue on as if nothing was amiss. It was strange, though, that a human was able to make it to the cafe in the first place. Not completely unheard of, but strange nonetheless.

It might have been more helpful if Misyr actually changed to his human appearance. The owner behind the counter seemed to roll her eyes when he didn't do such a thing. Kaoru would be getting on his case for sure if he was here. But he wasn't! So Misyr was free to do as he pleased. Besides, most just assumed he was some kind of cosplayer anyhow. Which was fine with him.

Would you believe that I have been roped into looking around many of these old houses?” he asked, looking to the old mansion behind them.

Maurice slides a steaming cup of said beverage to the writer with a subtle wink, careful to avoid the papers scattered on the table. It's a relatively slow evening, the usual customers won't start trickling in for a few more hours, so Maurice is free to linger around the booth in the corner where Poe has tucked himself in.

He recognizes that this is not the regular environment humans prefer to tread, but follows Poe's jittery steps anyways. For someone who's supposedly a horror enthusiast, he does appear quite skittish. Did he bring Lovecraft along for the sake of his own feeling of protection?

Well, that's roughly all anyone here wanted him for anyways. Protection and/or power.
