The Drayton plantation is beautiful and full of history and mystery. John Drayton didn’t show up in public records until he bought the land for this house. It is thought he was his own architect, built on his slave labor. The house is beautifully preserved and has a lot of puzzle pieces surrounding it. One of the parts that interest me most about the house was how they found intrique brick work hiding under the stairs. Another quirk of the house is how lady bugs show up every February by the hundreds and live around the house.
