Yesterday I did a line drawing of my scoliosis (Medical condition my body suffered from temporarily)spine on acetate using markers. I then filled in the image with my fingerprints using skin friendly black ink.

This was the print this morning - the blue is deeper and the pigment is more saturated. It was interesting to see the process of the blueprint as the image developed:

I then used my calligraphy drawing inks and quill to add a outline definition layer afterwards. I think the black ink helps the white pop against the blue and makes the image more clear.

Velma and Shaggy.

I did these because I got myself drawing inks for my birthday.  I wanted to get familiar with them in order to do quick and dirty sketches like this.  And I saw pictures of Velma and one thing led to another and I thought “how would Shaggy look if he was Black.”  And what if Velma was Japanese...which isn’t a stretch because Hayley Kiyoko played her for two live action movies.
