The days haven't been good for me, but at least I get to draw and make art. Work in progress on a new print that I want to make. It's going to be Luigi creating green electricity in his hands in the shape of a mushroom. So far, it's been fun and things have been turning out really well. Or just better than I thought. Which makes me happy because my journey with digital has been a struggle and just feeling like things look right is huge for me.

It's strange because these Splinters are the most "single dad" out of all the Splinters. Terrible martial arts sensei for their kids compared to 2012 Splinter and 2k3 Splinter and even 90's Live Action Splinter, but as "I'm looking for your new mom" coded as you can be...if you were a giant rat. They are actually trying to be good dads to their kids.
And before I forget...Last Ronin Splinter is the worst Splinter. And Mirage Splinter to a lesser extent. But a lot of that was because Mirage Splinter started out as just a ninja master looking for revenge and eventually became a loving parent to his kids. LR Splinter got himself and Donatello killed because he was blinded by revenge and his sense of honor. Something like that.

This was a bigger project than I thought it would be. But it also took less time than I thought it would. Hopefully it looks cool and people like it.

Went to sleep at 10, woke up at around 1, and I can't sleep. So I did a sketch of Samus while trying to remember how her Varia Suit from Super Metroid looked.
I need sleep. And food.
Raph and Donnie sketch.
I've been trying and failing to write a story synopsis for my idea of the Turtles. Right now, one of my ideas is that Raph and Donnie are twins. I don't want to play up some sort of smart/dumb dynamic between them, but I like the idea of them complimenting each other.
Donatello is a roboticist, Raphael is into metallurgy. They go out together to forage for metals for Donnie's robots and for Raph to make weapons for everyone. For Raph and Donnie, it helps them control their anger and feeling of helplessness in a world they are acutely aware of and lets them be more than what they feel like they're forced to be.
Something like that.

I really hope this looks cool. Right now, I can't tell if it does or doesn't.
These were so much fun to sketch out. And it was nice to turn off my brain and just go with it and feel things out with no plan.
Mikey was the hardest to do. I wanted him to have a toothy smile, but when I rendered it he turned out really creepy. But giving him a closed mouth smile did the job. There's probably more I can do, but I just want to enjoy what I've done right now.
