how did you get started drawing? and do you have any tips for beginners ^^
hmm i don’t remember when i started drawing, probably when i was very little but i guess almost all children do. i’m not sure why but i have liked drawing since i was young so it just came kind of naturally? i remember drawing characters from comics and manga i read when i was in elementary school and things like that; drawing simple things, often from references.
i’m not sure what tips i could give and whether they will be actually helpful or not, but one general thing to remember is simply this - practice a lot. the more you draw and paint the better you will become. it doesn’t matter if all the things you draw don’t look that good to you or not good at all, it’s still practice and still important and useful.
another important thing to remember is to not compare yourself to others. don’t demand yourself to be as ‘good’ as others, someone else may have been working on their art hundreds of hours more than you, don’t demand yourself to be on their level right away. we all have different backgrounds and skill levels and the world is unfair, improve at your own pace, draw the things you like and don’t be too hard on yourself. you’ll get there.
i consider myself to be quite beginner too so idk what else i could say. it may often feel difficult to not compare yourself to others (i do that all the time i should stop) but don’t give up and honestly just do what you enjoy~
