The opening sequence for Episode 1. Black Beauty is apparently played by four different horses in this show: “Tramp, Ebony, Fury and Jet. Tramp was the lead horse and the others were touched up with make-up to give them an identical white blaze.” [x] It could be a reasonable assumption that this is Tramp.
I have to laugh, though, at the description of the facial marking being a white blaze, though, because, my dudes...
That’s not a blaze.

And there it is, the opening title sequence. I had a terrible, terrible crack idea borne out of my associating The Fugitive pretty solidly with the 1993 Harrison Ford film of the same name. Imagine: the same plot, but with Black Beauty instead of Harrison Ford. “Dr. Black Beauty, unjustly accused of murdering his wife, must find the real killer while being the target of a nationwide manhunt led by a seasoned U.S. Marshal.” What could possibly go wrong with this??

Dr. Gordon’s wild ride to save the day. I’m really confused by what he’s doing with his hands in the second row, and why he doesn’t have contact with his galloping horse.
Those have have read the book and remember anything whatsoever will recognize this homage to Black Beauty’s time at Squire Gordon’s place, whereupon one evening he was called upon to race eight miles down the road to get the doctor to an emergency medical situation in time. Except this time it’s Doctor Gordon.

The music isn’t nearly dramatic enough to warrant all this galloping on-screen
