vanitas gets back from a mission looking like a chestburster victim and everyone's like "holy fuck dude you're gonna die why didn't you use curaga" and he's just like "haha, it's fine. it takes worse than that to kill me" and walks it off even though it's probably one of the worst injuries he's gotten before. someone please force this boy to stop being self-destructive

oh man here we go. this entire comic is absolutely heart-wrenching tbh. the way that sora (not roxas, not anymore) is so uncomfortable trying to mesh in with a normal life, obviously uncomfortable with being out in the open yet forcing himself to go out with kairi, only to run into lea, who is just trying to get his life together, reunite with old acquaintances and just trying to forget everything he did as a nobody is terribly sad. neither of them look like they’re ½

actually adjusting at all to their current lives, just pretending as hard as possible and ignoring the remnants of their pasts. and the guilt on lea’s face, as he sees sora (not roxas.) across from him, looking as lost as he probably feels, and just remembering everything that happened between them… m a n. lea clearly just wants to move on. i hope he gets a happy ending. 2/2

Ok, seriously thank you so much for writing this I’m so pumped!

I’m relieved that I was able to get all my intentions across bc I was seriously doubting myself and if I was able to properly convey the stuff I wanted to convey. so thank you so much for going into detail bc yeah this was all intentional and i wanted people to see all this

sora... is not readjusting well and he doesn’t even really bother to pretend that he’s fine. he’s stopped caring about how he presents himself (messier hair, deep bags, loose clothes, etc.) 

lea, meanwhile, at least pretends like he’s fine. he’s a little tired, but he at least puts a small amount of effort at looking presentable (hair out of his face, simple but nice shirt) 

and oh yeah lea feels INCREDIBLY guilty for everything he’s done and he thinks the best way to make up for that is to just... do nothing else. live quietly, dont cause trouble. dont put any more bad energy into the world, he doesnt believe he has the ability to make positive change, tho. and sora (eventually) gets that concept through to him (eventually.......) 

when lea sees sora again he literally has no words. he tries to say something, but what can he SAY? sorry i killed you?? nah. so he just... doesn’t say anything. he leaves quickly bc he doesnt want to see sora and he’s sure sora doesnt want to see him. sora, meanwhile, feels a little resentful for being ignored alkfad

but yeah, all lea really wants to do is move on and forget about that part of his life. but he can’t. there’s no way he can forget about all that - not when it’s such a HUGE chunk of his life. sora and him eventually kinda bond over their mutual trauma and build a relationship sort of like og axel and roxas but with a lot more cynicism and bitterness
