I don't know if you answered this question before or not, but in chapter 11 of SDAU, what would have happened during the scene at Anesidora if Yang had passed out? Like, what would Blake have done or how would she have handled it? What would happen after Yang woke up again? Have you ever thought about it or like, wrote a alternate take on it? For the sake of the character writing, I mean. I was just curious.
I'd never considered doing it any alternate way, because a) in the scenario I'd constructed I don't think Yang is in any danger of actually passing out; she's overwhelmed and her bloodflow is definitely non-standard due to the bindings and apparatus, but the disorientation is mostly mental/subspace-related and not actually an issue of like, not getting enough oxygen, but also b) what would happen if that were to occur is "nothing" -- as in, Blake would 100% end the scene and there is nothing Yang would be able to say upon waking that would change her mind on that. Which has the capacity to be adorable in its own way, and is responsible and all, but denies both the characters and the readers the catharsis intended in that moment.
that said, to play it out:
after "nothing," the fallout would be... not great. over the course of SDAU we see several instances of Blake being reckless during scenes, but she prides herself on the fact that she's only ever reckless with HERSELF and her own limits -- not the safety of her partner(s). it's why things going sideways with Emerald throws her so much, but even then that's a question of psychosexual safety in terms of roleplay, not physical safety. if something she'd engineered ended up in Yang actually losing consciousness, I think it would have set things back for them tremendously, tbh. the foundation of the growth Blake's experienced is that she's Good At This, and so to then fuck it up worse than she has in ages with the person she cherishes most would do a serious number on her. she'd beat herself up about it and go WAY slower in terms of any further branching out into Yang's kinks, which would in turn frustrate Yang who doesn't see what the big deal is, thinks Blake is seriously overreacting, and would lowkey feel like it's her fault for not being 'able to handle it.' they would work through it eventually, because they're devoted both to each other and to exploring this space, but. it would definitely be an unpleasant roadblock for both of them.

i wish i could help, but uh... honestly not really? most of the extra reading i did for sdau was on like materials and safety protocols when it came to that stuff. and in terms of ~inspiration it was mostly being widely read in fic smut in general?
but tbh most of the best kink stuff I've read that served as indirect fuel for this was mlm stuff from the Schitt's Creek fandom which is. probably not what you're looking for

I don't know if you noticed this or if you did it on purpose, or heck if I'm just overanalyzing things, but I noticed in Chapter 9 Yang jokes about Blake liking feet, and then later in the same chapter kisses her on the calf incredibly casually. I know it wasn't directly on her foot, but it was still pretty close me thinks and I was wondering if there was supposed to be some subtle implication that Yang was projecting that onto Blake since it was something she herself was into.
not intended to be connected moments or to have that particular connotation, but also if it gives you joy to think so this is absolutely a death of the author moment and have at!
the first foot thing was always meant to be a very small nod to Yang's dysphoric thinking and fears about how her body is perceived; the calf kiss is mostly casual as a matter of convenience. but like. that's just my opinion, and it doesn't belong to me anymore
thanks for writing yang as butch in sdau. a lot of people brush it off as laughable, but it’s nice to see people showcase her masculinity with care. especially because i didn’t really expect to find it since it wasn’t tagged but was pleasantly surprised. thank you for not treating it like a joke, or like something she could never be.

Do you think SDAU! Blake ever remembers that she was like scared to death of telling Yang about Anesidora whenever they're there together and just like...feels like a bit of an overly emotional rush of fondness and gratitude for Yang just for being in her life? I don't know, I just wanted to share a cute thought. (Also, sorry I've been like bombarding you with a lot of SDAU questions. I know you said you loved to talk about the stuff you worked on, but I still feel like I'm spamming you.)

in regards to your actual question/thought, I'm very pleased to report that the answer is actually "less and less, as time goes on." i think the greatest blessing in the world I can ever give Blake Belladonna is to be so fucking used to Yang she actually manages to acclimate to the new normal-- not taking her for granted, but ACTUALLY taking her as a given
eventually Anesidora really is just Their Place and not just Her Place, and while yes every once in a while that hits her... most of the time it doesn't, because it just gets to be her life
and i love that for them
