The top surgeon I'm looking at wants a letter from my therapist which is fine but he also wants a letter from my PCP which is where this might be dead in the water jfc.

I've heard Dr Rumer doesn't have the best reputation for her bedside manner. Would you say she was cordial and everything throughout the process?
She is very, very down-to-point and blunt with her approach. I absolutely love that about her, but I see how most westerners don't like that from medical professionals.
The patient coordinators are there to do all of the communication. I e-mail mine all the time and they usually get back to me within a few days, if not hours.
In-person, though, Dr.Rumer listened to all of the requests I vocalised and told me she would follow them. That really put me at peace.
I just got out of the hospital for my top surgery!

I'm still pretty drugged and out of it but I can already tell how fucking life changing this is. It hurts but it feels so good.

did Dr. Rumer/her staff ever deadname or misgender you?
Nope! They always used the right name and pronouns. I had to use my legal name for documents and whatnot obviously (that’s out of their control) but they never called me that
On another note, her staff are literally the nicest people ever!! They’re so so kind and affirming!! They were always happy to answer all my questions (and I had a LOT) and they were cheerful and encouraging :)

What was Dr. Rumer’s fee for surgery?
It depends on what type of surgery you get. Double Incision is the most expensive I believe. It will be ~$7000 (without insurance) not including hospital and anesthesiologist fees
how much were your anesthesiologist/hospital fees for Dr. Rumer?
The hospital was $222 and the anesthesiologist was $1320. I don’t know if that’s standard/common, it probably depends on your surgery. That also doesn’t include any insurance coverage you have
