PLEASE HEAR OUT MY SHIP🙏🙏🙏
"It doesn't look good, I'm afraid," Dr. Jamison said, shaking his head as he looked down at the chart. "You have incredibly high levels of activity in the pituitary amigdyla region of your brain, which controls perception and the fear response."
On the other side of the desk, Yumei's brow furrowed. "Hang on, are you saying that-
"It's true, take a look for yourself." He handed her the clipboard, and her frown deepened. "All these strange things you've been talking about are just your mind playing tricks on you. To put it bluntly, you're quite mad."
Yumei shook her head. "No, that's not-"
"You can argue all you like, but the data doesn't lie." Dr. Jamison stood, gesturing to the door behind Yumei. "Now if you'd be so kind, I have other patients to see, so I must ask you to leave."
~~~
Yumei stepped out into the hallway, then slid the bolt back into place on the door behind her. She turned to the side, where the man in black was watching Jamison through a pane of one-way glass.
"Any change?" he asked, face as dispassionate as ever.
"No," Yumei sighed. "He still thinks he's seeing patients."
"What was wrong with you this time?"
"Hallucinations, apparently. He actually called me mad, funny enough." She glanced down at the paper Jamison had handed her, full of meaningless scribbles, then balled it up and tossed it into a wastebasket. "How long are we going to play along with his delusions? Let's just tell him who he really is and get it over with."
"It's too much of a risk," the man in black said, not moving. He never faced anyone when he was talking to them unless they moved in front of him. "If the curse is strong enough, trying to contradict it could fry his brain. And we need him alive to fond out what he discovered. Once we know the source of the curse, then we can try to find a cure."
