â death is just another adventure. â
âsince we believe in the afterlife anâ shit, right? i mean, then that makes me more hopeful for death. actually, wrong choice of words. mânot scared of death at all. i think people are jusâ scared âcos after death thereâs mourninâ, but after that thereâs the remembrance anâ forgettinâ. some people remember you, some people forget. mâguessinâ that most want tâbe remembered.. hm. sounds âbout right. though i do like that thought âbout death beinâ an adventure.â she clears her throat, knowing her enthusiasm about such a dark topic was seeping through the walls of the room. it was an interesting topic and it would lead into a deeper conversation that wouldnât be dropped in the span of five minutes. three if hyejung was really disinterested.Â
death was horrible. hyejungâs experienced near-death experiences and also death of loved ones.. or maybe loved one. there were physical deaths where you know what happened to the person. you bury the body or you cremate it, you cry about it, you feel better after several mornings. then there were those mental deaths-- the death of a relationship. the death of a person thatâs been long gone, no communication between you or the other and no more memories to form. those deaths kill you, those deaths arenât an adventure. sure, if you happen to find yourself cross their paths again then it really is an adventure. if not, itâs dead. itâs dead as it can be and thereâs nothing you can do about it. it leaves you wondering things like why and how did it die? you want to tear your hair out because you canât take it, itâs dead forever.
itâs been silent for a good minute or two since hyejungâs been lost in her thoughts, but it wasnât her turn to talk. well, it wasnât anybodyâs turn but hyejung felt like she said too much, anyways. but she continues for the sake of the conversation not dying (ironic.)Â âi think.. death.. sâlike. ionno, i heard people on television say itâs pitch dark anâ shit. yâdonât think though when yâdie, right? so maybe before death, yâshould think of somethinâ tâtake with you. then maybe it wonât be all that lonely in that pitch black cave called death. whaddya think?â
