Yiynova DP10U thoughts after using it for 4 months:
This thing is cheap. For a $370 Cintiq-like tablet LCD, I guess that's about right, but I didn't expect it to enter the super-finicky death state of electronics this soon. I can't lean my hand on it too hard in certain areas without it flickering on/off, making my computer try to calibrate from a dual-monitor desktop to a single one and then back again, making me have to re-arrange all my windows to their proper places again.
In fact, while writing this, it did this exact same thing 3x because I rested my arm on the bottom for a second. Ughhhhh
Other problems: screen resolution is only 1024 x 600, viewing angle is ridiculously awful. You have to basically be looking at it straight on otherwise the colors/blacks and details are all wrong. Actually, colors are awful on it in general and shouldn't be trusted. The USB cable that comes off the left side of the tablet LCD is super finicky and will stop working right unless in proper position. It has two tiny legs on the back to stand the top of the tablet up 2 inches, which is not only useless but also unstable. Also there's no tools for OSX to calibrate pen accuracy.
Good things about it: it's super lightweight and it's powered only by 2 USB ports.
Don't buy this unless you only need a temporary solution for a Cintiq-like tool.
Does anyone have any experience with the other Yiynova tablet LCDs? Are they more reliable than this? Alternatively, if anyone has questions about this model, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer as best as I can.
EDIT: Kouotsu just told me there's a year long warranty for it. I'll try it out and report what happens.
