That moment when some kids at an abandoned race track are more open minded than most of America
When will bigotry stop and end. I can't stand to see this anymore, people of color fought for equal rights after slavery was abolished (13th Amendment) segregation was abolished and citizenship was granted (14th Amendment) and the freedom to have equal voting rights as a white man (15th Amendment). Women too fought along side every cause and then got the equal representation to vote and be as equal as men of both white and color alike (19th Amendment). Now the 14th was been altered through the years for everyone's rights but I believe it's time for Bigger Change, a 28th Amendment that states the same as the other 4 amendments have, all LGBT and others of the community shall have equal rights as any man nor woman based on principle not sexual orientation (the freedom to marry, freedom to adopt, freedom to be seen as humans as like other, freedom to have equal representation for our needs, freedom to be able to love who we want without discrimination, and without bigotry to say otherwise) #28thAmendment #equallyseenintheeyesofthelaw #downwithhate #upwithlove

y'all know where #downwithcis came from, right? like, you guys at least understand what you’re protesting?
“foreverhonest” made a post about how them and their friend were attacked by “a bunch of people wearing ‘down with cis’ shirts” as a parody of tumblr’s 'omg this thing happened’ obviously fake stories and/or to mock the personal harassment anecdotes of lgbtq+ people that had been circulating
and then a bunch of people took it seriously and were like “omg cisphobia is real!!! these transgendereds are out of control and obviously violent!!!” and a bunch of trans people were harassed, cis people were dicks, people demonized the trans community as a whole, all that fun shtick
and so trans people, in response, were like “omg yeah totally. I definitely go around in a van with my trans friends and beat cis people up. that’s like, my ideal date, if anyone’s listening. wink wink. (#downwithcis)”
and then more cis people were inflamed by what was obviously a personal attack (sarcasm) and the whole situation was aggrandized.
and then there’s the argument that, hey, in no way is a trans person demonizing cis people comparable to a cis person demonizing a trans person, because, y'know, trans people are actually affected by transphobia in real life. like, they actually ARE turned down for jobs and housing, harassed in the streets, bullied, etc.
so, tl;dr: trans people took the whole #downwithcis thing from something meant to demonize trans people, and then cis people took things out of context and also somehow decided they were the victim in this situation?
like death threats are inexcusable, but even so a trans person saying "all cis people should die" is totally different than a cis person saying "all trans people should die" cis people don't die because they're cis, but trans people die because they're trans all the godamn time (whether they're driven to suicide or flat-out murdered by a transphobic cis person) what I don't think cis people realize is that every trans person who has access to talking with other trans people knows at least one person who's died because they're trans. I don't think #downwithhate cis people understand how terrifying cis people are to trans people. like, do you guys understand you're literally the ruling class, right? We cannot do you any actual harm. Meanwhile, you guys fuck our shit up daily.
trans person, after a long day of being misgendered, invalidated, bullied, assaulted, etc (by cis people): *goes on the internet onto their personal blog* man cis people suck
cis people: um!!! excuse me?? y are you so bitter? hate only breeds more hate!!!!! ur just as bad as transphobes!!!!omg #downwithhate
