Villain and violent, infant and innocent... baby, both arms cradle you now.
Alone, she stood in the room with the radio, her only point of contact for weeks now, her eyes lingering on the old device. She turned away from it, but her footsteps moving around the room were audible in between the silence.
Things could be heard being moved around, shoved into what could presumably be a backpack, and a zipper zipping up once the packing had been finished. This was it.
She slung it over her shoulders and snuck a knife into her pocket. This show was nearly over. She set a voice recorder by the radio and hit the play button before leaving the room, knife in hand.
" Friends, if you're hearing this, either I will return home soon, or I won't make it back to you. I think it's time you all discovered the truth. "
The radio seemed to connect to the loudspeaker of the facility, somehow.
" If there has been question as to where I have been, I have isolated to protect you from the beasts that haunt me and the monster I am becoming. The last thing I want is to hurt the people very dear to me - and I'm aware the least expected of me is to leave without a word, and I'm sure it's incredibly concerning. But I promise that this is for the betterment of both your lives and mine. If I don't return, know that I care for and appreciate each and every one of you, and one, I love so very dearly, the first to show me love I didn't know possible until I met them. Don't worry, though. I plan to return, I just need your confidence in me, and I promise you I'll tell the whole truth when I do come back... (ahem)... when I come back home. I'll see you soon. "
There was a long battle ahead of her, and she needed to have faith in herself in order to make it back.
She believed in herself. She could do it, she would. Right now, it was as worth of a time as any to finally find the confidence she had lacked in her years upon years of existence.
Her grip on the knife tightened, and she moved forward, as that was the only way to go now.
