This week is BLACK MATERNAL HEALTH WEEK ππΏββοΈπ€ππΌπΆπΎ Too many women are still dying in childbirth in this present age of technology. Itβs this status quo that midwives and doulas say they are trying to change through awareness. ππΌπΆπΎπππΏββοΈ Sistahs, there is a feeling of empowerment that having a birth where you are fully aware and able to participate. When you are not under the influence of medication, the bonding between you and your newborn child is heightened. I had 3 of my 9 at home and can bear witness to it! πΆπΎπΌπππΌππΎββοΈ As a holistic doula of color, I help moms prepare for birth and motherhood in different ways.
