Douglas-042!

Alright alright, I know what you're going to say, who the hell is Douglas-042? Or better yet, why would I ship you with Douglas-042? And that, dear anon, is what I'm going to go on a FULL binge on all of my headcanons on Douglas and why he's one of my favorite characters!

Douglas, in my headcannons, is a BIG reader! He collects all sorts of books ranging from children tales, horror, action, fantasy, adult drama, and so much more. Like, I cannot stress enough how much of a book-worm he is; Jerome can testify, Douglas's personal quarters is an actual library, and sometimes employees would ask to borrow a few books. I can definitely see you absolutely loving what he has in that seemingly cavernous room (yes, his superiors had to move him to a larger room because this boy collects A L O T of books).

Also, Douglas writes his own books and sometimes even does art on the side! He has dozens of filled to the brim notebooks that store his ideas and imagination, and don't get me started on how many damn sketchbooks he has. This man is an absolute menace to art stores because he always ends up buying their entire stock (well, the UNSC buys them for him, and how can an art store reject them?).

Oh my god he'll share absolutely everything with you concerning his stories and ideas, if you want him to of course! If you let him, you'll very much notice he's a pretty imaginative guy and actually has really good and unique ideas. They can range from all sorts of genre, but you do notice that a lot of his tales include events that he's personally experienced, so you assume this is also a way to get out the stressors he goes through a lot.

Please let him hear you play the guitar. He'll die out of love for your art and talent.

Honestly this guy is just praise for you, like he geniunely loves you so damn much and he always makes sure to give you compliments and makes sure your loved

Did I say Douglas loves carrying you everywhere? No? Then dear anon, Douglas loves to carry you on his back and just take you exploring! He'll crack a joke every now and again while he takes you to areas you might find interesting, also trying to avoid Alice because she's veeeery prone to messing with him.

Oh god please don't be like Alice. Alice is an actual damn menace (in a good way).

Hooooo this red team member is also super super supportive of you!!! Like you want to be a professional guitarist? Man, Douglas has got you COVERED! He'll provide criticism when necessary, praise you when you hit your top hits, and when you're feeling down, Douglas is there to support you and raise your spirits.

Douglas is a huuuuge optimist, if you haven't already tell, so he certainly tries to raise your spirits at every opportunity. When you think something might be bad, he's there to tell you otherwise; he points out all the good and helps you seem them too.

Unlike other spartans, he'll never tease you for your height. Honestly he kind of forgets you're short sometimes, not in a bad way! He really does forget sometimes.

Also you get to witness the hilarious sight of Douglas hitting his head on the top of door frames since he's so tall. I'm not sorry (he's like 7'4 in armor come on lol)

Is definitely not the jealous type! He trusts you deeply and knows you wouldn't do anything to betray him; now, if some guy was trying to make forceful advances towards you, that's when he'll step in. But he won't get violent, he'll just stroll over and casually ask if there was a problem. Even when the guy tries to fight him, all it takes is a swift light punch to the gut for the guy to hide his tail and run.

You kill him with your goofiness. Like honestly you do kill him it's not even funny, this guy can laugh at almost anything (he just doesnt bc ya know its a job n stuff)

He plays with them. All. The. Time. bro im not even joking douglas will play jump rope with them, hula hoop, the whole damn ten thousand yards

anyways im going to probably keep rambling but in short, douglas is just a sweet, loving, comforting, and supportive dad figure who just hhhh loves you so much i cant state that enough
