Wires and Nerve is a companion graphic novel to the Lunar Chronicles. This book contains major TLC spoilers. This book was a 3 star read for me, as much as I love the Lunar Chronicles and the characters this book was just sort of filler. I felt like this first volume of W&N was mostly just setup for the rest of the volumes when there will hopefully be more action. It almost felt like it had middle book syndrome even though it is the first book just because we know the characters and the world so there is no need introduce it but it still needs to set up the later books.

I didn’t know Wires and Nerve existed before today, so when I saw it and looked at the art I had to get it! I love Iko and I’ve never read a graphic novel before, so I figured this was a good place to start

I was quite hesitant to start reading this graphic novel, as I was afraid of it not holding up to my hopes. It sat on my shelf for a while before I could not resist it’s call any longer. Guess what, though? It was downright amazing! The main character in this book is our beloved Iko! She is just as sassy and cute as ever. I really loved how we got to know her so much better. And my does she kick some real butt in this novel!  Oh, and the artwork? GORGEOUS!!! Although Iko is the focus, we do get to see a good many other characters as well. It takes place after Cinder has the Luna crown and is currently trying to do the best for the people she can. All this is happening while rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers are threatening the peace between Earth and Luna, by killing and running wild on Earth. Iko makes it her mission to put them under control.

JUST FINISHED READING WIRES AND NERVE. IT WAS SO GOOD. It’s like I’d forgotten how awesome TLC was. Thank you, Marissa! \o
