Me and my dad on any minor inconvenience:

I’m native and fully believe in the folklore/mythology of my tribe (Choctaw) so going outside at night is an anxiety inducing task, especially if it’s near the woods or a field.

my partner lives right next to some woods and we were on the porch of their house stargazing. After abt 30-45 minutes we heard smth from the woods that sounded like a cat/opossum hissing, we waited a few seconds, same sound again. Same cadence, pitch, and speed. we went inside

before we went outside we made a rule: if we hear the same exact sound twice we go back in. Unfortunately, we did have to go back outside to move the grill under the car awning thing (idk what they’re called) so it didn’t get rained on. Froggi grabbed a baseball bat and I walked behind them w a flashlight bc we were both scared shitless.

After we got back inside I went to the bathroom (there is a window in there next to the toilet). While I was washing my hands I heard tapping on the window, very distinct pattern, tap tap, pause, tap tap, pause, I did my best to ignore it. When I got back into Froggi’s room I didn’t mention that bc I didn’t want to scare them any more
