I spent a total of 12 hours on this piece and the title is purposefully ironic.

It's a self-call out about how no matter how much time I spend working on anything, no matter how much I do, I feel like I'm not doing enough. I always feel like I need to do more, and more, and more, not seeing that I am already doing a lot. And this mentality is hurting me a lot.

I could climb a mountain and chastise myself for not being able to reach for the stars.

Et si, je n'étais pas douce ?

Et si, à l’abri des regards, parfois, souvent, j’étais agressive, angoissée et angoissante, vulgaire, intransigeante, indifférente, désabusée, ironique, bougonne, pleureuse, cynique, colérique, chiante, folle, trop sensible, jamais contente, jamais sourire, toujours pire ?

Et si, douce, c’était un masque ? Que je me suis fabriqué par peur que l’on ne sache pas m’aimer dans la nudité de ma vérité ?

Et si, douce, c'était pas doux, et si douce, c’était trop dur ?

Et si, douce, j’en pouvais plus, qu’il me prenait l’envie de lui flanquer des coups, jusqu’à ce qu’elle se fissure, douce, jusqu’à ce qu’elle fasse éclater son robuste vernis de bien-comme-il-faut, pour montrer sa vraie couleur, qui est même pas une vraie couleur, mais un genre de bleu-vert-rouge qui hésite, qui sait pas.

Douce ne sait pas. Et je ne sais pas non plus, si je dois la chérir ou la rejeter, l’assumer ou l’honorer. La reconnaître ou la renier.

La question persiste, encore et malgré tout.
