So as! I have mentioned/hinted at on occasion, Double is Not from this (marvel/dc/ect) universe and he's like. human adjacent. his ears are probably the most notable thing because they're not exactly human-round but that + eyes could easily be explained away as like. costume-y stuff if needed

BUT ANYWAY so he's not from Here. He has this ability to open portals to allow him to teleport (and the skill of this power greatly fluxuates. the more familiar he is w/ an area, the more success he has. but in theory he could go anywhere. but the greater distance also takes a physical toll) and also he can move between universes but this specific ability of his power is not something he has control over.

He also has memory issues specifically regarding moving between the universes. if the shift is shorter, the memory loss isnt as severe (ie if he vanished for two days, he might just have some trouble remembering details) but if he's been gone for a month or more, he's pretty much a blank slate regarding knowing people, organizations, general social norms, ect

as for regressing he's not necessarily clingy in the sense that he wants to be held/babied/doted on but he wants to Hang out. He wants to do stuff. He doesnt wanna be on his own, he wants to be where his people are - he's honestly somewhere between kid-teen though he might act younger, but he'sss not baby and baby-ish things aren't his vibe (unless he's crashing real hard and he's hurt/scared then it might be more his vibe. but more toddler-y than infant i think. or if he's just Shifted over he's more prone to Baby/Little Guy)

Friends- Do they have any regression friends? A caregiver? Anyone they get along with while regressed but not while big?

marvel: imo clint (hawkeye) is a regressor too + natasha (black widow) is a flip but specifically for clint, but she gradually picks up Double under that same umbrella! Double's range fluctuates from kid-teen but he's also prone to Babymode esp after a recent jump between universes. Pretty much I see Double + Clint as whatever Double is at, Clint is like just older enough to still call being the older sibling. Nat is either the baby sister (Clint is very protective of and Double is like woah. im older now...) OR older sister caregiver to them both

Steve (captain america) is Double's like go to guy though. He prefers to call Steve either "Cap" "Bossman" "Big Guy" and refers to Steve as his "Handler? over his CG/Dad/ect

Not anyone he dislikes in particular but i think he just has an easier time being smaller with Steve. i think he likes ragebaiting Tony (iron man) too much.

Thor i think would be his most complicated feeling just because Thor is extremely Big Brother to me and that triggers Double's feeling of "Someone/thing is missing and I don't know what. I can't think of what's missing. I miss someone"

Toys- What toys do they like to play wish?

hands on toys/interactive toys! He has a stuffed cow plush but he's nottt a big on like pretend play in the sense that he gets bored playing on his own with action figures and stuff. but he likes building legos/magnet tiles/lincoln logs and race car tracks and stuff he can move and occupy himself without having to like "play" a character

he's better at that if he's playing with someone else tho he doesn't mind doing action figures/plushie games w others

NOT a puzzle guy though. anything more than like 50 pieces and he's immediately bored as all out. Also not a slime kid he goes "eueueuughgughougugh". he thinks it's cool to look at but No Touching

World- Is there a place they feel safest at?

Hm. Hm. Hm. It's a yes and a no. Because of the memory loss, Double often has a hard time settling down or feeling like spaces are "his" or that he lives there. He likes being places and holding someone's hand, so as long as he's holding someone's hand or sitting with someone (he's very much the "lay all over you" kid) he tends to feel good and safe

Double - He/Him - Human-Adjacent - 20s

so summar is that Double is an inter-dimensional hero - he creates portals that can both be used in one world but can also open larger portal tears into other dimensions. in this case, that’s between the Justice League-Avengers (Dc-Marvel)! It is important to note that the inter-dimensional portals are not generally voluntarily made bc he doesn’t have the best control over his abilities. he can open portals in universe more or less just fine (ex: could open a portal from the watchtower to a street in metropolis)

these smaller portals also don’t cause memory loss where the inter-dimensional ones do. Double doesn’t remember the avengers in the league universe and vice versa, and he also just has an overall memory issue. to counter this, he has journals! Clark/Superman suggested it in the JLverse where Steve/Cap suggested it in the Avengersverse. each time he travels between verses, he loses memory and doesnt retain anything from previous visits, hence the journal

Double comes from a universe that quite literally collapsed into itself and does Not Exist anymore. Double does not know this. he doesnt remember that universe anymore, partially bc of the portal powers and partially bc well. How do you remember something that doesnt exist??

He serves as a superhero in both universes and also SHIELD agent-adjacent in the Avengerverse. He doesnt currently go by a specific hero name, just goes by Double! He does have a “civilian” persona named Garret but like. He never uses it. like ever 😗 he just prefers to go by Double

the total memory loss does often cause some trouble. double tends to flight rather than fight, and it can be very hard to convince someone that you’re friendly when you’re also trying to keep them caught for their own safety. especially when that guy can create portals and dip out.

i want to say. he doesnt have a primary cg. but i would lie if i said that. avengerverse he leans very much towards Steve and bucky or tony, JLverse i think it’s a lot more equal
